Interesting Simliarity Ratings to Chad Henne

He definitely has looked like Favre- the favre of 2010(or late 2008)

Another example of why watching a QB play is more important than looking at his stats. Go look at some of the highlights of Favre from 1993, or Rivers in 2007. Then look at Henne last year. Clear separation between the first 2 and Henne. They made plays, Henne doesn't. That's what you want to see in a young QB, the playmaking ability. If they show it, then you wait out the struggles, because you know there's a good chance that you've got something. If they don't, that's when you need to move on. Henne hasn't shown any playmaking ability through 2 years, the Dolphins are willing to give him a 3rd, we'll see what happens.

QUARTERBACKS
Subtract 15 points for each year difference in age between the two players
Subtract 10 points for each year difference in career experience between the two players (based on the year the player came out of college, not necessarily his first year in the NFL)
Subtract an additional 15 points for each year in difference in career experience as a starting quarterback between the two players, based on the first year where a quarterback started at least six games
Subtract 5 points times the difference in games played
Subtract 20 points times the difference in games started
Subtract 0.225 points for each difference of 1 pass attempt
Subtract 2.5 points for each difference of 10 passing yards
Subtract 1.6 points for each difference of 0.1% in completion percentage
Subtract 3 points times the difference in passing touchdowns
Subtract 2 points times the difference in interceptions
Subtract 2 points times the difference in sacks
Subtract 150 points times the difference in yards per pass attempt
Subtract 1 point for each difference of 4 rushing attempts
Subtract 1 point for each difference of 10 rushing yards
Subtract 1 point for each difference in rushing touchdowns

After following these guidelines, no Tim Couch and Carr aren't similar to Henne.

The system isn't perfect obviously but it's just an example that you can't give up on the guy in only his second full season in the NFL.

Oh, so now we're cherry picking random stats to make Henne look better. Who gives a **** what Favre did in 1993. He's always been an overrated QB who throws a **** load of picks. Unlike Henne though, he throws a ****load of TD's too. Could that Phillip Rivers stat be any more misleading? 05-07. Yea, let's use Rivers 2005 season where he threw 22 passes to try and lower his numbers to Henne's level. Get real. In 06 and 07 he combined for 43 TD's and 24 picks. As for Leftwich, he's never been that good in the first place.

If Chad Henne was worth a damn, you wouldn't need to cherry pick random stats (misleading ones at that) to try and build up a case for him. Chad Henne blows, plain and simple.

I am not cherrypicking. Are you kidding me? Those are some of the most basic stats you would use to evaluate a QB.

He's saying youre cherry picking the players. He is 100% correct.

Why dont you post the COUNTLESS number of QBs who had poor TD to INT ratios with a similar amount of attempts as Henne over their first couple of years who continued to be complete trash. If you can find any who were given more opportunities to suck.

Instead you found a couple of the very few with similar numbers who turned into good players.

How about just posting Matt Ryans numbers over the last few years instead. He and Henne were drafted the same year ya know. If you want you can even throw Jake Long's numbers in there too. Ryan will still have way less INTs, a bunch more TDs, and a lot of WINS.

You're not understanding how similarity works here. (And he did say stats btw) Sure maybe I cherrypicked...but it's more of an example of how not to sleep on the guy right now. He's only entering his second full year starting in the NFL. Favre having a score of 809/1000 is pretty damn good...means they were really similar and I would take 1/10th of the talent of Favre on this team. Nowhere did I say this the be all or end all and that Henne is going to be a god.

brett favre is one of the best quarterbacks to touch a football... hes a gamer! he showed up EVERY WEEK ready to play... he won a superbowl and has 3 league mvps... not to mention, the donkey on here that said he has been the worst quarterback for 3 years... lmao.. brett favre had his best season EVER two years ago... get over yourself

Actually, as I posted earlier in this thread, the stats show the threadstarters assertation is incorrect.

With Henne the proof is in the pudding. When I watch him play, what I see is a quarterback that does not change the play at the line, or if he tries to, usually is forced to take a time out because he is too deliberate when trying to read the defense. He stares down his receivers. When the team gets toward the end of the game, he continues to be deliberate and has no sense of urgency. This leads to poor clock management and missed opportunities. People like to blame Sparano for this but Henne is as much at fault as anyone.

I have hopes that he will improve in these things, but I will be watching him closely this preseason.

All the venom aimed at the OP on this thread for just pointing out that other stud QBs have had bad starts and / or seasons is outrageous.

Henne was awful last season. God awful. But if he beats out Moore and is our starter this year, you won't see me with any Matt f***ing Ryan sigs as he's a Falcon. Henne's a Dolphin whether we hate it or despise it so I support him. You may see me with a Landry Jones sig in January but until then, anything but getting behind Henne and giving him one last shot is just not helping this team.
