Interesting Simliarity Ratings to Chad Henne

Ah... the ignore list is really a beautiful thing.

Anyway, I agree with the general point. Way too early to assume anything about Henne, one way or another.

You know, Henne also has "Interesting Similarities" with another guy I remember:

- Robotlike
- Has a laser

... Maybe we should sign him.

Oh, so now we're cherry picking random stats to make Henne look better. Who gives a **** what Favre did in 1993. He's always been an overrated QB who throws a **** load of picks. Unlike Henne though, he throws a ****load of TD's too. Could that Phillip Rivers stat be any more misleading? 05-07. Yea, let's use Rivers 2005 season where he threw 22 passes to try and lower his numbers to Henne's level. Get real. In 06 and 07 he combined for 43 TD's and 24 picks. As for Leftwich, he's never been that good in the first place.

If Chad Henne was worth a damn, you wouldn't need to cherry pick random stats (misleading ones at that) to try and build up a case for him. Chad Henne blows, plain and simple.

It's a mirage comparing stats of one player to another payer. You are talking about different environments, eras, and talent at different positions. If you are relying on stats as the tell all, you need to re-examine that approach and watch game film. What you'll see is Henne is not seeing the entire field in front of him. His ability to read a defense his slow and he can't/won't throw into tight coverage. When it comes to playing against a shell defense he is horrible. He makes poor decisions with the ball and has a tendency to be wildly inaccurate.

The biggest problem is that his coaching staff and team mates don't have confidence in him. I watched him at Michigan and if he made a dumb mistake he was able to bounce back quickly with no effect. He did the same his first year starting but last year I saw a different Henne. His confidence seems to be gone and he has not found a way to get it back. He has never gone through a low like this and doesn't appear that he can find a way out of it. I think Sparano and Henning did a lot of damage to him and I am not sure he'll ever recover enough to be considered even a good QB. One thing is certain in my mind, I don't see him succeeding in Miami. Unless there is some unlikely miraculous change mentally, this is Chad's last season in Miami, which poses a bigger problem. You can't expect a rookie QB to step in and play at a level for a playoff run. It happens but not often. Of course this line of thought assumes they actually draft a franchise QB. But after witnessing what Henne went through, I have no confidence that this coaching staff knows how to develop a QB.

These comparison's don't mean anything. You can just about do this for any player.

Chad Henne 2010: 3301 Yds/15 TD/19 INT/61.4 CMP%/75.4

David Carr 2005: 3531 Yds/16 TD/ 14 INT/61.2 CMP%/83.5

Tim Couch 2001: 3040 Yds/17 TD/21 INT/59.9CMP%/73.1

Oooh, coincidence!

HA! Tim Couch, now there is a name I haven't heard uttered since, oh wait a minute let's start a "Sign Tim Couch" thread. lol.

Cleveland made a mistake dumping him too early. They shouldve started him at least 3 seasons in order "to find out if he has it". You know, you wouldnt want to jump to conclusions when there just wasnt enough evidence. He needed "one more year" to "sink or swim".

Too bad for them it came back to bite them in the *** when Couch got picked up and won all those games with that other team. I swear, so many QBs that ****ing blew for almost 2 full seasons shouldve been given more chances because of the 100s of them over the years almost all of them wound up being great players.

Henne sucks.

Damn. Just about everyone forgot to take off their blinders after the lockout ended. Wake the **** up. Henne is terrible. He shows no qualities of a "franchise qb". None. He has no confidence. He has no leadership in the huddle or the locker room. He has no accuracy. For ****'s sake, he cant even complete half of his check downs.

It almost sounds like your suggesting that even if Henne ended up like Favre it wouldn't matter because Favre is overrated. So your saying it wouldn't matter if Henne went to five conference championship games, two Super Bowls, won a championship, and was a three time league MVP?

When did I say that? Did you not see the part where I said Favre throws a **** load of TD's? LOL at Henne ever throwing a bunch of a TD's. The main point is, who gives a **** what Favre did 18 years ago.

Propaganda..............Rivers threw 43 TD's versus 25 Ints in the years 2005-2007. Henne has never thrown more touchdowns than pics and currently has 27 touchdowns versus 33 interceptions....similar? Really?

Brett Favre, 1993 was his 2nd year in Green Bay, his first season in the NFL was a wasted season in Atlanta, in his first year in Green Bay(his 2nd NFL SEASON) he threw 18 tds versus 13 interceptions with a QB rating of 85.3, he did have a subpar 1993 but still led his team to the playoffs (something Henne has never done), he also had the very good 1992 season to fall back on, Henne has never had a good season with each season finishing around 75 QB rating and the upside down touchdown to interception ratio previously mentioned. Favre would go on to throw 71 td's versus 27 interceptions in the next 2 years with a QB rating in the upper 90's. Somehow I don't see the similarities................................

Byron Leftwich? Well I can understand similarities there....Leftwich sucks. However, even Leftwich threw 44 TD's versus 31 ints in his first 3 years, again not similar to Henne at all.

I understand many are trying hard to believe in Henne, but the truth is there is nothing solid to pin your hopes on. He has shown nothing that resembles greatness or even proficiency as a QB.

:bobdole:

Comparing Henne to Phillip Rivers is a ****ing joke.

And I dont know whether you have noticed this, but since about 3 years ago, Brett Favre ****ing blows. He's like the worst QB in the league or close to it.

Byron Leftwich? Who?

Have you watched Delhomme or DA much lately?

I think the point is that kicking Henne to the curb this early would be a bad idea because if history has taught us anything it's that coming to a conclusion this early is highly irrational.

particularly when henning is a dinosaur.

I agree with most of what you say, but simmer down on Favre being overrated chant. I think the hall of fame might have a different opinion on that.
