Interesting take on Harrington

Daunte and Joey both rank in the high twenties. Just goes to show that they've been pretty much been playing at an equal level...except Joey is at 100% health.

Good article. I love how both he and the guys at Football Outsiders actually think about stats and how they relate to the game and then make a judgement on players based on better analysis. So pretty much what they are trying to say is that Joey's performance was a very mediocre 400 yard passing day. I was not impressed with his performance. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good. But as has been the case for the whole year, just about everyone is to blame.

any system that has damon huard as the 5th best QB in the NFL is flawed. John Kitna 9th and Brunnell 10th. Rex Grossman has one bad game all season and he's 15th? The outsiders have some better stats than normal in that they incorporate more of the game but their weightings are still a joke

apparently there are 36 better running backs in the NFL than Ronnie Brown

who knew Courtney Anderson is the 3rd best Tight End in football

stats dont show you intangibles and the whole story.

What does show you intangibles? It seems like people just totally guess for the most part. But the thing I hear most is that winning in the playoffs or winning a Super Bowl shows you have intangibles. And 99% of the time they are talking about QBs. I think the whole intangibles thing is completely overblown and overrated. The thing that determines whether or not a QB can win a game or win a Super Bowl is how good his team is, specifically his defense and the running game.

I'm sorry but DPAR is a joke. Its based more on opinion than anything. Fantasy football needs to go away. I feel that it's taking away from the REAL game of football. Neither Daunte nor Joey shold be that far down when you have Brunell up that high.:shakeno:

I'm surprised you didnt get any flak for saying fantasy football needs to go away but I agree. Even the players are doing it now, hows that any different than betting on your team?

People Complain about JH. Did you watch the qb play of the Cowboys last night?

Everyone has their opinion, its what makes the world go around. Joey did OK Sunday, not great, but not bad either. He is what he is, a backup QB who can come in and not lose a game for you. Joey didn't lose that game, our defensive secondary did.

I'm not defending Joey. But he would have had well over 500 yards and another 8 or so completions if our receivers didn't have hands made of stone. Sorry.

No one wants to give Joey that benefit of the doubt, but you are right. Also he doesn't decide to throw 63 times. If the OLine could move anyoen off the ball so we coudl run,he wouldn't have to. Is that Joey's fault? I think Harrington has done a good job of keeping us in games. If those passess get caught, and the OLine block s a little , we win the last two games.

And I don't know what has happened to our defense. We never come up with the big stop or turnover when we need it. At some point those guys are accountable too.

Just goes to show you how bad the offensive system is here. 62 pass attempts?

If you think about it, the INT that was actually Harrington's fault, wasnt bad considering he only made 1 in 62 pass attempts. The rest are just bounced off Mcmichaels hands.

I cant believe that we have a RB who was the number 2 overall pick, Hudson Houck as the O-line coach, and we are still throwing the ball 62 times- in a game where we were leading at halftime!

Harrington doesn't deserve to be a scapegoat for anything. The guy is told to throw the ball 61 times, and makes one bad pass out of 61. It's a joke. The problem, as is becoming blatant, is Mularkey. You've got Ronnie Brown, a #2 overall pick in the backfield, and you throw 61 times. It just doesn't make any sense. You eat more of the clock with running, leading to a longer break for the defense that is getting worn to the bone. Mularkey has ruined this team. You've got all the ingredients for a good NFL offense, and it isn't working. It's not the players, it's the O.C.
