The Dolphins won their final three preseason games of 2008, their first three-game winning streak in the preseason since 2000 when they also won their final three contests… The Dolphins went 3-1 this preseason, their first winning mark in the preseason since they also put together a 3-1 register in 2000 ... Several rookies either led or tied for the team lead in various categories this preseason. Undrafted free agent kicker Dan Carpenter led the team with 27 points on 6-6 PATs and 7-8 field goals. Sixth-round draft choice RB Jalen Paremele tied for the team lead in rushing yards, along with Ricky Williams, as he totaled 123 yards and a TD on 21 carries. Both the total and average are the team’s best figures in the preseason since 1980 when they yielded a total of just 31 points (7.8 ppg) as they went 3-1 ... The Dolphins’ defense allowed an average of just 219.5 total net yards per game, the lowest figure permitted by the Dolphins in the preseason since 1980 when they yielded an average of 186.8 yards an outing as they went 3-1… The Dolphins yielded an average of only 139.0 yards passing per contest this preseason, the lowest figure by an opponent in the preseason since 2002 when they averaged only 109.0 yards passing per outing against the Dolphins ... Opponents put together a passer rating of just 63.8 against the Dolphins, their lowest figure since 2002 when the Dolphins permitted a 63.2 mark ... The Dolphins recorded at least one sack in each of the four preseason games. Their total of 14 was accounted for by 12 different players as DE Randy Starks and LB Rob Ninkovich led the way with two apiece. The passer rating of 104.8 by Chad Pennington is the highest by a Dolphins quarterback in the preseason with 15 or more attempts since Jay Fiedler had a 107.3 mark in 2003 ... QB Chad Henne threw for 351 yards this preseason, the most by a Dolphins rookie in the preseason since Dan Marino tossed for 354 yards in 1983 ... The 453 rushing yards and 3.8-yard average per carry accumulated by the Dolphins this preseason mark their best figures in these categories since 2003 when they totaled 477 yards on the ground and averaged 3.9 yards per rush attempt.
