Interesting Yahoo mock draft

I put zero credibility in mock drafts.. Just look at years past and you see how bogus they really are.. Heck, right at the top of them , who thought the Texans would pass on Reggie Bush?? Last year who thought we'd pass on Brady Quinn?

Mocks are only good for a laugh is what I have found.

Does he really have Jake Long slipping to #8 . . . . lmao, the furthest Jake will go is 5 to KC who are enamored with him. . . but honestly, I can't see ATL passing on him . . . hell I don't even want Miami to pass on him.

I read in a bunch of sources that while J. Long has been a great RIGHT tackle, he is not suited to the left side. Those sames sources (ESPN, PFW, SI, NFL Radio on Sirius) say most teams will not spend a first round pick on a right tackle. All of that said, IMO the offensive line is the major project for the Dolfins, so I would not be upset if they go for J. Long with #1.

He has played LT for the past 2 years and gave up 1 sack . . . that to Vernon Gholston who more than likely will be a top 5 pick in this draft. To say he is not suited for the Left side is laughable because he has proven it the last 2 years. Not to mention he has TWO penalities in 4 years . . . that is amazing. And don't forget he is hands down the best run blocking tackle in this draft . . . and IMO the best in pass pro also, but that is more debatable.

I just keep thinking of Ronnie running left behind that road hog and the damage that running game of the Dolphins will cause with Long at LT.

These reports that are critical of Jake Long make me laugh. You may or may not have noticed that these media people are the same ones who last season were saying that Joe Thomas is good but not elite, but he's a Top 5 pick because there aren't any Orlando Paces out there. They were also saying that it's a shame that Jake Long wasn't declaring because he was a better LT prospect than Joe Thomas. Now, Thomas has been fantastic and they have conveniently forgotten their criticism of him. Now they're criticising Jake Long in much the same way, but stating the opposite of what they said before last year's draft ... honestly it makes me laugh.

I can't remember a time where jake long played RT in the recent past. At least not in the past couple years off the top of my head.

what sources did you read again?

Notice B. Alberts from UVA fell out of the 1st round?

I was on the first-overall-pick-Jake Long bandwagon, but it just seems that he mainly has experience on the right side and there are other guys out there who will make better LT's, like Ryan Clady. I can't see Jake Long falling to 8th....I think KC takes him with the 5th pick. To me Chris Long will be our pick, barring any trade downs.

 he played LT for the previous 2 years and gave up only 1 sack to a top 5 player in this draft . . . how can u say he mainly has experience on the right side? Gholston is a monster and yea he gave Jake some fits in that game . . . but Jake held his own and he was not dominated. Ask Derrick Harvey about Jake's Pass protection skills . . . he is a potential top 10 pick as well and Jake completely shut him down.

Look I dont' know much about technique . . . especially when it comes to a Offensive Lineman . . . but I can see results and stats as a fan . . . and when i see 2 sacks in 4 years and 2 penalties in 4 years . . . and little Mike Hart running like a wild man behind this beast . . . at a program that many consider top 5 in the country (Michigan, USC, Ohio State, LSU in there) . . . that has to say something. How people rank Clady over Long is amazing.

Like another poster stated . . . Long was equally or even higher rated than Joe Thomas last year . . . and Joe Thomas made the Pro Bowl as a rookie . . . Jake gets his hands on you, its a wrap . . . we haven't had an elite LT prospect since Richmond Webb . . . here is our opportunity to grab one . . . and now people don't want to take advantage . . . I mean what is the problem?

0 credibility except for the ones that show us taking Chris Long first right?
