Hey all. I was in the car listening to Serious Radio NFL channel interviewing Marcus Stroud, when all of a sudden RW comes on and talks for a bit about being out, then being back and hurt, then being approached by Parcells. When he was asked about his expectations, he threw his normal "try my best" answer out there, but followed it up with "Ronnie is the starter, but I'm looking forward to competing and would love th opportunity to start ifI can earn it."

Also said that if he isn't with the Dolphins, he will continue to ply as long as someone wanted his services. I don't have a link, but there may be one on Serious Radio.

I heard it Ricky will be our Barber change of pace back

I was just excited to hear him state that he wants to compete rather than go through the motions. If he gets a fire lit under his butt, he will be a huge plus for us (either playing or trading).

He also stated he should be 100% cleared from recovery of the torn pectoral for the off season training in a week or 2.

I'm just going to say that our RB core is NASTY!!!!!!
I know what Ricky can do, but Ronnie is not losing his starting job.

I like having a good problem (if you call it that)

I hope he's put some size on. He got too small last year. When he was with us in his prime years, he was one of my top 3 all time favorite backs. I love that style of having quickness and vision while being able to run someone over and smash them in the mouth. I do feel that Ronnie has potential to be that kind of back for a long time. Check out those clips that CT posted of Ronnie or the ones that were all around of Ronnie running over J. Allen in college many times. That's exactly what I love of a running back. Imagine if we had a healthy Ronnie and Ricky of 02/03!, this year. Oh man! I can dream!

If Ricky can stay out of trouble and Ronnie can stay healthy we're gonna have the best 1-2 punch at RB and when you trow Lo Booker to the mix then is gonna be the best 1-2-3 in the NFL.

Ozzy rules!!

I totally agree with you how Ricky was that punishing RB that just wanted to hit people in the mouth, but as the years went on he became more elusive. His speed (weight) and shiftyness (if that's even a word) became more of his style of play.

Ronnie is a straight up bruiser. It looks like he wants to hit you even if your not in in his way, and that kind of scares me a bit. How he recovers from this injury regardless, I know we have a **** good back in Ronnie, but having a back-up by the name of Ricky Williams is a problem any team in this league would love to have.

If Ronnie stays healthy and Ricky stays focused and of course healthy, I think our running game would be much respected and perhaps feared..

It depends on our players..

As long as he stays out of drugs and being stupid I love the guy he is a big asset to this team!

i say we run the ball 79% of the tie..you cant go wrong...... we have 2 Special backs and a improved O-line

Why not do that??? Maybe that is a tad too much but like 60 or 65% with the 3 of them. Start Beck to give him some reps with a running offense and I can envision a lot more success that way then trying to be a 50/50 team with either QB!!! That is why i keep saying on these boards that we should draft a lot of O line. Like 3 picks of OL Long with #1, a 2B or 3rd round and maybe a project with one of our supplemental or 6th or 7's. We need more positions but it HAS to be a focus cuz success on offense starts there. Look at the Pats. Brady wouldnt have had the crazy #'s without a lot of time to allow all of his receivers get open.

Oh yeah and to the point, RICKY is still a ABSOLUTE beast i bet!!! When he came back that year he looked like he was the old ricky after a few games. If he has training camp and can stay healthy. LOOK OUT NOW!!! RB, RW and LB.

yeah.... give the QB time....
I hope our OL is somewhat solid next season because I am so sick of reading John Beck Bust threads. He was a rookie playing with third stingers at every position with no running back, and not to mention just playing in only 4 games.

I should pretend like I'm a doctor if I'm in a hospital for just a few hours.
Anyone need a kidney transplant?
