He's a very good athletic player. Excelled in man coverage while as a safety and a corner.
And blossomed in Richard's defensive scheme for his corners.
Never developed an eye for the ball while covering a player. He can drape very good receivers, as shown in 2018 with Michael Thomas, and his overall targets is low and from the eye test you could tell QB's would avoid him.

Truthfully, I didn't watch him much in Dallas. I see his back turned often and not looking for the ball. He also seems to knock down balls rather than go for picks reflecting his low interception count. I do think he is a solid upgrade and could be deadly with X.

Is a great coverage guy especially in man to man really good at past deflected and knocking receivers off their route not so much a ball hawk but the catch rate and QB rating when throwing to him is well below average. Him and Howard together along with Needham in the slot and you’re going to be able to be very creative with your front seven

The other thing to consider is that Jones will not always be asked to cover the top WR, so either Jones or Howard will be on the #2 guy, which should effectively shut that WR down.
Having two top CB's is a huge luxury for a defensive coordinator, allowing them to double other guys, blitz from CB and S and blitz more from LB as well.
