Diehard since '73
Hello all:
Longtime 'lurker' finally signing in. Been a dolphins fan since I was 8...back when the Zonk was knocking people silly. Subscribed to "Dolphins Digest" since 3rd grade. Got eyeglasses that looked like Bob Griese's. Believe it or not, I have gotten at least one Dolphins gift for Christmas for 32 years!
Cried the day Griese retired. Cried (alone) after the '82 Chargers Playoff game
(still the best game I have ever seen and the best individual performance
ever by Winslow). Wanted to cry the day Shula retired and shed a tear when Danny retired. Despise Jimmy Johnson and his henchmen (aka Wannstatdt).:fire:
I am a Pitt grad and met Danny Marino one Sunday in February, 1984 in my dorm. Was studying for midterms and "Ducky Lewis", who played secondary
for Pitt and lived on my floor, brought Dan the Man to my room. Dan signed my poster. I was speechless, but very very grateful.
My wife grew up in Tampa Bay area, but loves Marino almost as much as I do.
She still says she misses watching his fire and passion and generalship on Sundays.
Anyway, I am going to the Hall of Fame enshrinement in 2 weeks and the game.
You can be certain to hear from me, but I must warn you ....I get rather passionate about my 'Phins!!
take care,
Mike "Zimm"erman
