Yep. Unles we sign brandon albert we will be looking at jeff ireland taking another Left Tackle in the first round. 7 years after taking jake long we have to draft another left tackle & miss out on a possible game changer like a tight end or WR. Glad ireland got an extension

We need to be drafting QB in the first round until we actually find one. Oh, THill is not one by the way...

Ireland won't be here to draft anyone...

Now, this is what is full circle: A new GM will join the Dolphins and select an LT with a high 1st round pick. The cycle continues...

Let's draft a QB in every rd. We are bound to hit on one eventually.

It's my hope that Ireland won't be the GM after this season's over, thereby he won't be drafting anyone for us.

Eh. Idk should we go WR? LT? TE? Idk if I can give up on RT yet. I still think he needs a RB and WR.

When the seats are empty Thursday night Ross will come to the conclusion....Jeff is next man up to the hanging pole.

When you hear management wants to do this with certain players, and coaches want to do something completely different, that is your sign its time to go. Thats you Jeff. Clearly south florida hates you and you do nobody any good any more.

Philbin gets one more year unless we go outside organization for GM.

Whether we draft a LT or not depends on how good the Gaurds are IMO but there is more than one way to skin a rat.

I like what I see from the U Oline. You can get good Oline in mid rounds but you have to have patience. If you can get your hands on a good LT/RT in first round that you know wont be a liability early, then you pretty much have to snag him. Alot of our team is young and has not been given opportunities which goes back to the coaches decisions. Clearly they dont like playing rookies much so.....dont overlook who we just drafted next year.

A new GM will be taking over a young team with lots of talent.

You said all of that and close out to say the team has a lot of talent.......Who found all this talent you speak of?

Having a chuckle at those insisting Ireland will be fired at the end of the year.

4 straight losing seasons: "Perfectly acceptable, heres an extension".
5 straight losing seasons: "PACK YOUR BAGS YOUR OUT!"

Ive been hearing for years how Ireland will be let go after the season ends so fans shouldnt waste their time speculating. "Parcells is gone now, if we lose then our new owner will bring in his own guys!", "If Daboll cant fix Henne then Ireland will be fired along with Sparano", "You can win with a rookie quarterback and coach, if we dont win then Ireland will be fired!". Same song, different lyrics. I'll believe it when i see it.

Smart money says Ireland returns if we win 7 games. And yes, he will be taking a lineman in the draft. I suspect he would have taken Joeckel in this one if Jacksonville hadnt done us a solid and set back their own franchise. This time i expect Ireland to go balls deep for Jake Matthews. Admittedly not the worst plan seeing as how we'd probably just bust on our second and third round picks anyways.

The difference between last year, and this year, is that last year was YEAR 1 of the "Philbin Era" with Ireland as GM. Ross was never going to pull he plug after year one with a first year HC and a first year QB with a serviceable season with hopes of the future. THIS was supposed to be the year where the "master plan" would come together, and you saw that with all the aggressive moves that until now Ireland hadn't made. If all that aggressiveness and "master plan" brought was another 7-9 season, not even Droopy Ross could be so dense to bring the regime back. Ross already knows that Ireland is a hated man in SoFla. Bringing him back once the hatred is at a fever pitch after all the hopes and hype of the "promised season" went up in a puff of Clabo's fart would be a remarkable form of corporate seppuku.

Ireland can't be with the team next year. He just can't. It cannot go on. His full circle is one of the circles of hell.

There is always excuses as to why this year is different then the rest. And that works both ways, as "evidence" towards his firing and as a justification for his staying.

For what your talking about...hell, this isnt even Ireland's first "master plan". I saw part 1 in 2010 when he went all in on Brandon Marshall and Karlos Dansby. That too led to a 7-9 season.

Ross likes Ireland. I dont think anyone could reasonable deny that. Its not a stretch for him to assign blame elsewhere so he can keep a man he personally likes working for him. I could very easily see Ross blaming the coordinators(especially Sherman) and giving this regime another year so long as they make replacements. Thats not hard to imagine at all...especially seeing as how its happened before.

Im not sure how anyone can think im being unreasonable. As Ireland has done an exceptional job at skirting the blame for the worst stretch in team history, i dont think its inconceivable he does it again. Until he is packing up his office, assurances that he will be fired are white noise. Again, i'll believe it when i see it.
