Ireland comes full circle. Will have to draft another LT in 1st RD

Having a chuckle at those insisting Ireland will be fired at the end of the year.

4 straight losing seasons: "Perfectly acceptable, heres an extension".
5 straight losing seasons: "PACK YOUR BAGS YOUR OUT!"

Ive been hearing for years how Ireland will be let go after the season ends so fans shouldnt waste their time speculating. "Parcells is gone now, if we lose then our new owner will bring in his own guys!", "If Daboll cant fix Henne then Ireland will be fired along with Sparano", "You can win with a rookie quarterback and coach, if we dont win then Ireland will be fired!". Same song, different lyrics. I'll believe it when i see it.

Smart money says Ireland returns if we win 7 games. And yes, he will be taking a lineman in the draft. I suspect he would have taken Joeckel in this one if Jacksonville hadnt done us a solid and set back their own franchise. This time i expect Ireland to go balls deep for Jake Matthews. Admittedly not the worst plan seeing as how we'd probably just bust on our second and third round picks anyways.

I have a feeling the lyrics this time will be: All those free agents need time to gel
And: He's got $60 million to spend in free agency again! He's a mastermind!!

jeff is the problem and ross is no better he gave this guy an ext. come on man there will be nobody at the game there was not many there last home game but wait till thursday maybe ross might understand its because jeff is the real problem go heat i am tired of being the let down every week 4 stright loss sone to be 6 come on man we may not win again this season thanks jeff you should of stay in dallas and did us a favor

Eh. Idk should we go WR? LT? TE? Idk if I can give up on RT yet. I still think he needs a RB and WR.

IF you watched the game today, when Tannehill has time to throw the ball he is spot on , and can make any throw , he needs a couple of either G or T OR MAYBE ONE OF EACH, Tannehill can make every throw in the league , he just has got to have time to make the throws . its ridiculous that we are still having to address the OL after 5 years of Ireland and company, imo if they havent figured it out yet which is , they havent , they are not the answer to our offence problem .

The way this team is going, I don't think we have to worry about Ireland being here to pick another LT or Tannehill's replacement.

YOU KNOW WHAT ?? anytime you have 20+mil STILL UNDER THE CAP , and you havent addressed the problem , and you need a player in a certain poss and the trade deadline is still active , then you have no Buisness being in this Game At All , because your clueless.

Yep. Unles we sign brandon albert we will be looking at jeff ireland taking another Left Tackle in the first round. 7 years after taking jake long we have to draft another left tackle & miss out on a possible game changer like a tight end or WR. Glad ireland got an extension

Or Ross could hire a real GM who doesn't have to burn a first round picks on offensive lineman. Other teams do it all the time.

There is always excuses as to why this year is different then the rest. And that works both ways, as "evidence" towards his firing and as a justification for his staying.

For what your talking about...hell, this isnt even Ireland's first "master plan". I saw part 1 in 2010 when he went all in on Brandon Marshall and Karlos Dansby. That too led to a 7-9 season.

Ross likes Ireland. I dont think anyone could reasonable deny that. Its not a stretch for him to assign blame elsewhere so he can keep a man he personally likes working for him. I could very easily see Ross blaming the coordinators(especially Sherman) and giving this regime another year so long as they make replacements. Thats not hard to imagine at all...especially seeing as how its happened before.

Im not sure how anyone can think im being unreasonable. As Ireland has done an exceptional job at skirting the blame for the worst stretch in team history, i dont think its inconceivable he does it again. Until he is packing up his office, assurances that he will be fired are white noise. Again, i'll believe it when i see it.

That's the thing. Just look here over the years. There are still a number of people who defend him, make excuses for him and deflect blame off of him. It's not inconceivable that it's also happened to the one person that matters in deciding his future with the team. It's a really scary thought.

But Jeff Ireland is not why we are losing Harry. You want to debate Ireland and his drafts and why they suck, fine, but that is not why we are 3-4 right now.

And it is documented that Ireland and staff dissagree with the coaches about how players are used right now. dion jordan comes to mind. how many times did you see him in the game yesterday? not much.

It isn't? I'm pretty sure there is a pretty direct correlation between drafting/signing bad players and losing. Unless, of course, the claim is that two completely different coaching staffs couldn't comprehend his brilliance enough to field a winning team, which I find hard to believe.
