Ireland didn't see a huge difference between R. G. III and Ryan Tannehill

I agree. They had very similar stats last year. Everyone always seems to think black 1st round Qbs will be busts. Last year I remember the threads about Mallet being so much better than Cam.

All of the experts try to give grades on team's drafts and figure out who is going to be a franchise guy and Hall of Famer, and who we will be a bust....why don't we just wait and see what happens. I think a great deal of what determines how a guy will turn it is which team drafts him, and what kind of players surround him. You also cannot measure a player's desire, intensity, effort. I hope RG3 has a nice career, but I think Tannehill is the right guy and glad we drafted him.

agreed. i really think we got the right guy. or atleast i hope. i just think tannehill ceilling is higher. and i think we have the best staff possible to teach a young talented qb.

I'm in the minority, not been a Robert Griffin fan. I don't think there's any separation at all, or rather it's separation between Tannehill on top and Robert Griffin in trail. I don't actually believe there's all that much separation between Griffin and Russell Wilson.

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong.

Gotta disagree whole heartedly with you on this one ck. I think Griffen is wayyyy more accurate than tannehil at this point and I'm not talking about completion percentage I'm talking about placing the ball. But I like tanehills potential with his size strength and athleticism.

It has nothing to do with that. I would have taken Cam Newton over anyone last year and Josh Freeman over Mark Sanchez any day of the week. The QB's blackness has nothing to do with potential for success.

I agree with you. My point was not against Tannehill it was for him. I am saying what makes RG3 that much of a better prospect then him? At the end most of the sure fire prospects don't end up producing and the question mark ones do.

What I am trying to get to is I agree with Ireland RG3 or Luck are no Better then Tannehill at this moment in the NFL. All the qbs that got drafted enter the NFL as unknown players.

Also we all have to remember there has not been a single good qb out of that terrible conference aka the big 10 or 12 whatever u wanna call it. So that means if either RG3 or Tannehill become great qbs they will become the first ever out of that **** hole. Also they both could become great and Luck could be a bust you never know until it all plays out.

Come on there is a huge difference between both and RGIII is the superior prospect. But since RGIII is in the Redskins, which means he will fail, then Ireland is pretty much safe to say this because if Tannehill flops well RGIII did too.

And you can quote me on that, RGIII WILL fail. Had he gone to us or even the Browns, I'd say he would have a good future. But the Redskins, no first day draft picks for 2 years, salary cap penalties for front loading contracts, that division with a prime Eli and that Giants defense, the Eagles aren't a cakewalk and the Cowboys aren't either, RGIII will bust.

Sucks because I liked him and wanted him here but oh well. I hope he has fun with his best playmaker being old ass Clinton Portis.

The only reason Ireland asked Dez if his mom was a whore is because his mom is a whore.

They actually are quite similar. RG is slightly faster but Tannehill is taller. I think it is a toss up.

+1

I also think Tannehill's going into a much better situation. The Redskins will throw RG3 to the Wolves, and they've given their fans this idea that he has high quality weapons for RG3 to work with (after overpaying for Garcon and Morgan). The one reason I was so keen on drafting Tannehill: he's in good hands. Not good, great hands. This staff knows how to develop a QB and an Offense. Marry that with his physical talents, and I love the pick. RG3 . . . I see him making some big plays, but I also see him make some huge mistakes and struggling to stay healthy. I don't know that RG3 will ever get the opportunity to develop in a good QB - let alone a great one.

The only difference according to Ireland is that RG3's mother is a whore.

The clips I've seen RT's ability to pick up yards with his feet was the most surprising. If they use him properly, defenses could have a really difficult time defending RT. When he's ready, of course.

Well I'm watching NFL Network and they're talking about how Andrew Luck is spewing off 30 word plays already on his first day at Rookie camp, directing the players and demonstating leadership. Then they go to Tannehill, comfortable in the offense, looks very good throwing the ball, helping teammates out and teaching receivers how to run routes as well as demonstrating leadership. And then there's RG3...and what is he doing? Working on fundamentals...not runnning plays but working on his footwork.

IMO RG3 is a major project. IF Shanahan can teach him and he retains what he learns and doesn't fall back to what he's been doing since he was in elementary school playing football then he'll have a good QB...but that's a big IF because he won't have the benefit of sitting and learning and working on fundamentals he's going to play day 1 and my guess is, like Tebow, he's going to forget what he's learned and do what he's always done.
