Ireland made "Punch Incognito" remark after Martin left team

Pro Football Talk amends story to say Ireland made "punch Incognito" remarks to Martin's agent after Martin left team http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/11/06/sources-ireland-suggested-that-martin-confront-incognito-physically/ …

UPDATE 11:04 a.m. ET 11/7/13: A prior version of this story identified the agent as Rick Smith. It was Kenny Zuckerman, who works with Smith at the same firm. Also, a prior version of this story characterized the call as happening before Martin left the team. The call happened after Martin left.

LMAO at the Firelands.....

LOL @ the dolts jumping the gun...

I can't stand PFT, but with that said, at least they admitted it.... you won't ever see the same from Schefty or ESPN in regards to the voicemail transcript.

It's exactly this kind of bull**** that makes me pissed off.

So irresponsible, and damaging. News outlets have been running with this **** all day, now even MORE misinformation has been released.

Fans on this board are starting threads and blowing chunks with this crap.

Like I said.. let's wait and see before making any conclusions.

I guess it is just too much to ask the media to let the NFL investigation play out and see what facts and timelines we have etc. Still going to get hammered for the possible code red if that turns out to be true. Not to defend Ireland for the players he has selected or not selected but does anyone think other coaches etc have never asked to toughen up their players? Shula?

I'm pretty sure a big part of the issue is that the comment was made at all. It's kind of like when I called into work because my grandfather died and my manager said "So what, people die all the time." There are things that you shouldn't say in certain situations and Ireland manages to say them in every situation.

Winner. Though i like how Flynryan put it when i updated the other thread 2 hours ago in the Ireland thread:

I honestly don't know what would be more damning to the Dolphins.

Scenario A.) agents calls prior to incident Ireland says tell your client to deck him.

Scenario B.) agent calls after incident to inform General Manager of a hostile work environment and the General Managers offers a violent solution.

Seriously, the way people react to these "silver bullets"...desperate is the only word. Its just baffling how people start cheering at these things that are just so damning. Its like any information that says the story is slightly different is to be celebrated as a victory...despite what that information actually is.

Ireland should be fired...

At some point, the Martin's need to get worried about counter legal actions. These accusations can be a two way street.

Sure you like it because it fits your hate the team agenda...

Martin camp is in some deep mud.

Sure, the flashy news gave great exposure for the first few days, but now that the REAL facts start to trickle out....Martin story looks less and less and more and more like a money grab.

Not really, it was the timing.

Proof?? Taped call? No? So wait Martin's agent is trying to sling more mud at Dolphins and Ireland? Really? I wish these so called reporters would get proof before printing or spouting off crap. Seriously, could that statement be more he said, he said. Just a joke
