Ireland picked the right Ryan...

Unlike Mallett, Tannehill is continuing to make it very tough for the coaches to keep him on the bench (Yes, tannehill does have a huge advantage he does not have Brady to compete with), and will be getting a chance with the 1st string players as soon as tonight.

And also unlike Mallett, Tannehill isn't playing behind Tom effing Brady.

reminds me of a certain someone we had as a quarterback not too long ago
Dan was way more athletic than people give him credit I wouldn't doubt more of an athlete than Mallet

budda budda bing!!

I should hope so seeing as we paid a huge price for Tannehill when we could have gotten Mallet basically for free and a year sooner. I wouldn't bet on it though
Was watching the pats preseason game on NFL network and I just gotta say Mallet has a freaking rocket arm. He can throw it so hard that's it's pretty much uncatchable. Glad we got "Touch" Tannehill though.
Mallet is extremly talented, better arm then Tannehill, but probably nowhere as smart, athletic, or accountable as Tannehill will be. Rocket arms will take you so far.

Do you remember a rocket launcher QB called Chad Henne? Well Ryan Mallet is very similar to him.

Matt Ryan is a good QB, and is pretty smart, but as I have said many times already, he is not special, what you see is as good as it will get (no more ceiling to talk of, and winning a playoff game proves that), so if he ever has to do it without star receiver or rb, offense is going to to take large hit.

Tannehill still needs to prove himself against a 1st string defense, but you can already see, like Matt Ryan he is a good QB, but unlike Matt, he is much more athletic, and his ceiling still high enough where you can say, if he reaches it, he will be special, a player that can will his team to win, not need all the pieces to be there for him to look good.

Matt Ryan has proved his worth as NFL QB. Surely he can lead a talented team to some victories but without important support from his special teams Falcons could be wasting the best years of Ryan.

Ryan Tannehill is starting his NFL carer so we can't be sure about his ceiling. Not yet.

Matt Ryan is a good QB, If they told me we could get him, I would hope we would jump at it....if we did not have Tannehill. I have already said if someone for the Falcons had gone crazy and wanted to trade Henne for Ryan, obviously I would have loved it, but I love the way Tannehill is progressing.

He still at times tends to stare down his receiver.
He is great throwing to his left, very good to his right, but still has a little work to do throwing to the middle of the field within the 15- 25 yard range.
He has a instincts for the pass rush, but still tends to take more sacks the he should.
He still sometimes doubts himself and throws a bit late (Against the bucs on 4th down after the dropped TD), or has more confidence in his arm then he should, which will become an INT if he is not careful.

All these areas to still work on, and he still is looking very good, if he corrects them he is going to be special. Tonight he will get a chance with the #1 offense againts the #1 D of the Panthers....we will see if he is for real. It's true Matt Ryan is already established as a good QB, but Tannehill can be more.
