Ireland says phins will be active in FA, other notes

IRELAND ON FREE AGENCY
• Ireland said if he and Philbin disagree on drafting players A and B, “I have authority to make that decision. But in most cases, we may go with player C.”

Someone please explain this line to me? umpalu = kind of scared of this one. Ireland = Luck Philbin = RG3 C = Henne

i bet money y bell is asked to take a pay cut or a cap casualty this offseason...

More like this...

Ireland = Manning Philbin = Flynn C= Tannehill

i'd like to keep bell for one more season as a leader etc but not at $5 mil...i'm guessing he's asked to take half that in a cut...and i think he better think long and hard about it before he says no...cause i don't see anyone giving him $5 mil on the street...or anything close...father time is closing in no ones gonna commit real money to him at this stage imo...

Exactly. If we draft a FS Id especially like the vet presence...but not for that cash. I wouldnt mind drafting a FS and a SS to be honest. Im luke-warm on Reshad at SS...but I dont think hes going to be what I had hoped.

if bell moves on i would give the starting ss job to reshad in a heartbeat...imo they are very similar players...physical forces in the box who have initial short area burst and quick acceleration...bells just lost a step

that is unless we drafted a mark barron of bama...although i have concerns about his hips and ability to transition out of his pedal...

we're not gonna cover the gronks of the world with a ss anyways...you cover them with your pass rush pressure...

If Reshad turns out to be Bell...Id be very happy with that. I like Iloka at SS. Hes big and athletic...and moves well. He needs to be a little more fundamentally sound in tackling..but that can be coached up. He can also make some plays on the ball...something Bell didnt do much of. At FS Im completely on the Janzen Jackson train.

some people are saying move sean smith to free safety permanently...and i would say to that you better hope your lbs and dline are getting off blocks and making tackles and its not like it was at the beginning of this season where reshad jones was leading us in tackles thru the first 3 games...cause fellas if sean smith has got to come up and make that many sure tackles he'll miss at least half of em and he'll never take on a downhill full steam runner in run support head on...he may dive from an angle or throw an arm out but there will be guys scampering for big yardage in our secondary if he's got to make a lot of tackles...

so only way that has a shot is your lbs and dline dominate...

Marshall,Dansby,Bush, Burnett, Moore . we have to admit that he did bring great playmakers the past two seasons. in fact they are maybe our best players. i see a bright future ahead .
