Ireland will be SPARED!

nto saying i liek ireland. i dont really. but, i feel taht bringing in some new gm or new gm/coach guy will ruin this team more. youc ant deny at least 60 percent of our roster is ready to contend. lets not throw it away AGAIN. like we did int he wanny days. complete wasted talent on Defense. Blunders with guys like welker int he saban era etc. lets keep the guys we have developed into Dolphins and get a coach who knows how to utilize them.

you guys need to calm down and look at things logically. there is no "Savior" saban wasn't, parcells wasn't and friggen cowher or neone else will not be either.

i disagree. thats all b.s. by that standard you crown sparano a great coach and ireland a great GM since they inherited a 1-15 team.

fact is Tannenbaum was gettin knocked too during the mangini era which was similar to ours except he had penny and favre for most of it and pulled of SLIGHTYLY better records than we are now. but soon as Rex came in, and Tannenbaum retained his spot - the team stayed intact and they built on the foundation - making them a perenial contender. most "rebuilds" never work anyway.
what players do we have to build around? this team is awful right now. by the way Parcells was the true GM here the first 3 years.

I think Ross wants a big name hire to give the fan base hope for the future meaning Ireland will be gone. He reminds me of the type of guy who will swing for the fences and if that next big name says he wants Ireland out, look for that to happen. Although I would much rather have Jeff Fisher on the side lines, Cowher would fill what Ross believes would be a popular choice amongst the fan base.

That's what I really want to believe but sadly, I am afraid the OP is correct. I think the only way Ireland goes is if Carl Peterson gets in Ross' ear and tells him what Ireland doesn't bring to this team.

Of course if Henne falls flat on his face Ireland will be gone because Ross himself said he was happy Ireland didn't panic and felt he had his QB all along.

oh god no

no more bad draft picks and cowboys trash.

he keeps bringing in bums and won't take real talent in the draft (dez bryant) for stupid reasons...

What is Barry Switzer (HC) and Dave Pornstache (DC) doing these days...Matt Millen might be available for GM....

I can't see Ross' ego settling for anything less that the top coach available on the market. I wouldn't be surprised if Gruden or Cwher are waiting for this gig.

keeping Ireland only hinders the process for a coach search because his hasn't been consistent enough as a GM. Will he share the philosophy?

I would have agreed with you two weeks ago, but now if things keep going the way there are it's going to be a TOTAL house cleaning.

he has to be let go, i don't want any more cowboy people here, unless it is jason garrett who use to be here, ireland will probably bring wade phillips

Gruden has already openly campaigned for this gig, I think Cowher will be coaching the Giants this time next year.

This.

For one reason only: Ticket sales will fall into the 30s range and even high 20s...Apathy has set in and its only week 2...The radio shows are so negative already...

To generate buzz and sales they will have to bring in a new coach and GM...

I'm looking like a genius for giving up my season tickets.

Coming to a franchise near you....soon

I agree that he'll be spared, but I don't think he should be.... not by a long shot.

My question would be, what in the hell had Ireland ever done to deserve being on that plane with Ross and completely out of the way of scrutiny to begin with... he's just as culpable in all this as anybody, if not moreso.

Of course he wasn't going to make any drastic moves in the off-season because he knew it wasn't his a** on the line, it was Sparano's.

irelands part of the good ole' boy network. his father or grandfather was in the system and he was a ball boy with the bears when payton was around. i think he got his start with carl peterson. so peterson thinks highly of him. obviously ross and peterson are close. obviously that would influence ross's thinking regarding ireland especially considering he doesnt know football.

in addition there are things we simply dont know. perhaps ireland has all his own scouting reports from when parcells was here and can say - look no way i take pat white, or this guy etc. and look who i had rated ahead of them. i would have taken this guy - and look how their career has started. u just never know.

ireland may have some credible things to back up his case

TedSlimm for GM and the artist formerly known as WVdolphan for HC IMO. Join the bandwagon.
