Third in line: Tannehill set for Pro Day

Thursday March 29th.

Projected first-round pick Ryan Tannehill will hold his much anticipated workout on Thursday at the McFerrin Indoor Facility at Texas A&M.

Tannehill, who missed the Senior Bowl and NFL Combine because of a broken foot that required surgery, hasn't been able to get on the field for scouts and evaluators since the Aggies' bowl win over Northwestern. Tannehill broke the fifth metatarsal in a passing drill in January, but is close to 100 percent healthy.

Tannehill is expected to run a 40-yard dash, but not participate in any other agility drills, which is understandable considering his recent foot injury. He will then throw for "approximately 30-45 minutes," according to a Texas A&M spokesman. Tannehill's former teammates, running back Cyrus Gray and wide receiver Jeff Fuller, are expected to participate in the passing session.

Tannehill is widely considered the third-ranked quarterback prospect in this draft behind Stanford's Andrew Luck and Baylor's Robert Griffin III.

After Luck and Griffin come off the board with the first two picks, Tannehill is expected to be drafted in the early first round, perhaps as early as No. 4 to the Cleveland Browns. The Miami Dolphins, where former Aggies head coach Mike Sherman is the offensive coordinator, are also expected to push for the strong-armed signal caller.

Hopefully Tannehill falls to #8 so the Dolphins can finally get their quarterback of the future.

So Nubs, do you feel that Tannehill truely has that pedigree? There seems to be so many varying opinions that him with most saying that top 10 is far too high for him.

If Sherman thinks he is worth an 8th pick, I think we should take him. I like his mobility and being a former WR he could occasionally be lined up to catch a pass out of a wildcat or trick play. Looks like he has good fundamentals and a lot of upside.

If Miami is truly targeting Tannehill they should ignore his work out and show lots of interest in other QB's.Sherman should KNOW all about him already and I would not tip our hand. Let's hope he has a sub par workout and his stock drops. I like him but #8 ? Not unless they are all in on him for our future. If so go for it.

By supposed "draftniks". Tannehill is pretty highly thought of by NFL

based on hindsight, should ryan leaf have been the number 2 pick? how was aaron rogers picked after Alex smith? How was alex smith picked number 1? How did tom brady slip to the 6th? how did kurt warner go undrafted?

the entire draft is a crapshoot.

Unless they are ALL IN on Tannehil i say trade down for picks. Maybe that QB you get in the 3rd round is perfect for the WCO and goes on to be the next Brady. Crapshoot is exactly correct..

Bill gets it.
