Colts dont believe its a crapshoot. they gave up a HOF QB for Luck.
Andrew Luck is a once in a decade prospect.

Aside from scouting and evaluating players in college and the pros, Jeff Ireland had nothing to do with who was drafted in Dallas. Jerry Jones and Bill Parcells was in charge of the drafts in Dallas when Ireland was there.Ireland may be considered an excellent scout, however IMO I haven't seen that in his selection of QBs at Dallas or Here. Time will tell.
Ireland and Philbin there, Mike Sherman not. That's as it should be. I like the confidence Mike Sherman has not attending, knowing Tannehill doesn't need any hand holding in order to impress the Dolphins' General Manager and Head Coach on his own.
Sherman really doesn't need to be there. They know what he thinks. But Mike Sherman can't be the only reason you select Ryan Tannehill as your quarterback of the future anymore than Joe Philbin could be the only reason you select Matt Flynn as your quarterback of the future. The problem with Flynn is Philbin was basically the only one on board. The others weren't impressed. All that got was a visit set up and Jeff Ireland sabotaging the negotiations by offering a below market deal and then trying to manipulate Flynn, which turned him off even more.
Sherman and Philbin should find more fertile ground in Ryan Tannehill. Jeff Ireland is a prototype guy. Ryan Tannehill is a prototypical modern era quarterback. The Dolphins were rumored to like Tannehill before Philbin and Sherman even showed up.
Question becomes will they be able to pull the trigger? I still think #4 overall is too high for him but if Cleveland trades out with the Rams thereby trading away their shot at Blackmon it becomes a 50/50 proposition. IMO it would be between Richardson and Tannehill. Holmgren had a RB from Alabama once and he rode him all the way to a super bowl...didn't win but he got there.Ireland and Philbin there, Mike Sherman not. That's as it should be. Looks like while Childress was at Tannehill's pro day for the Browns, Shurmur and Heckert were at Alabama checking Richardson out.even in a trade out to #6 i don't see cleveland taking tannehill...but trent richardson may go at #5 to the bucs if that happens so who knows...

well they better watch out for tampa...
If they want their choice of trent or blackmon... they will stay at four. if they want to miss out on both... they'll trade back with rams to 6 lol
