Ireland's worst move in his tenure here

Trading marshall for two 3rds is dumb i agree. Wallace is a one trick pony who is better than anyone in the NFL at that trick, straight line speed. I love tannehill but thats a throw thats in both of their heads. This guy has 600+ yards and 6+ tds left on the field when he did his job.

Ireland knew who Marshall was when he traded FOR him. It was no secret. Heck, it's why he was even available. And then he trades him away for nothing. And left a gaping hole at receiver in his standard whackamole management style.

I've kinda been wondering actually....anyone know how many times RT has targeted and missed a reasonably open to WIDE open Mike Wallace >30 yards from scrimmage? I'd be curious to know.

i hope it makes you feel better to be telling yourself this tomorrow when we are still stuck with Philbin, but finally rid ourselves of ireland.

Fact is, Philbin did not want Marshall, and got rid of him first thing as soon as he got into his office. Philbin got rid of all leaders and difference makers.

Philbin is proud that his team has "No Swagger" .

Philbin sucks.

Reality begs to differ. This is par for the course with Ireland. Invest big, sell low. You can keep scrambling around trying to create(and create is the key word) difference between all the transactions, but one word explains literally all the screw ups: incompetence. Jeff Ireland is bad at his job. Thats why he does the things he does.

Ireland is the general manager. He could have told Philbin to sit down and shut up when it came to Marshall. He did tell Philbin to sit down and shut up when it came to Incognito. Ireland made the decision to make the roster moves in the ways that occurred.

you quote "reality" as if you are the only one with access to the truth.

You sound a bit silly even attempting to explain away the fact that Marshall got traded away about 2 days after Philbin took the job. Marshall had just come off a pro-bowl season and had doen great in that game as well. Ireland had gone after Marshall hard and had gotten him, and inked him long term. OBVIOUSLY Philbin did not want him, how is this even debatable?

As for incognito - i call B.S. on that whole story. Any fool with 1/8 of a brain and an ounce of sense in assessing how the media works or how large organizations feed the media, knows that the phins leaked that nonsense about "philbin wanted to cut incognito, ireland overruled it" just simply b/c Ross wants to keep Philbin and Fire ireland. He leaked that to pre-empt the immanent move. The move i still believe is on its way this week. Ireland asked Philbin about Vontae, and about several other guys too. Marshall being sent away was a Philbin move all the way.

I am not defending Ireland either - we need to get rid of him, but we need to get rid of Philbin as well. They both suck.

But, much the same as Ross pre-empted his ireland/philbin decision, many fans on here are pre-empting their mentality leading up to the fact that Ireland is getting fired and Philbin will stay. This is human nature, so i guess i empathize with you all, obviously placing the blame solely on Ireland will help you stay happy and optomistic for next year with philbin and a new GM, but the GM does not motivate or prepare players, the GM does not decide on "GO, GO GO" etc. So be happy, but please dont try to B.S. the rest of us.

Counting the Parcells years its easily drafting Jake Wrong instead of Matty Ice. Worst decision by a franchise in this past decade with the possible exception being the Redskins trading a boat load of picks to get RG3-10.

Not counting the Parcells years it is hiring Philbin/Sherman knowing they would hitch their wagon to Ryan Tannereach.

His worst move was letting Long walk without a capable replacement...

Jon Martin...lol
