Ricky will be back
Dante will presumably be 100% healthy
Jason Allen will have had training camp under his belt
We'll have had a free agent class (please 2 new OL starters.....please) and draft class to add to "Nicks" team

Are we measureably better on opening day 07?

I sure hope so. But unfortunately the quality of our QB is a big ?

It's over a year later and Culpeppers knee is still hurting him which in turn keeps him from being mobile and stepping into his throws.

Joey is playing better but still no where near where we need our QB to be.

Free agency/drafting a QB still places us with a little growing pains as they adjust to our offense.

But if Daunte or Joey plays at or near a pro bowl QB level then we are DEFINATELY in for a good 2007 :D

Ricky might not be back....

plus...the organization and some fans might not want to see him back...:shakeno:

joey isnt great but were winning, so he can stay our QB.

speak for yourself, and yourself only. Im positive the majority wants him back.

The age of Zach, JT, Vonnie, Traylor, Carter has to factored in. Some of the talent we acquire in the draft and through the maturation of our last two draft classes will be offset by the drop in production of some of our aging vets. Duante will be the determing factor. He plays the most important position and one of or biggest weaknesses. J. Allen doesn't look like a first round pick yet (time will tell) and we gave our 2 to Minnie for Duante. Hagan isn't providing a lot of punch yet either. We need some day 1 talent from the '06 class to start making an impact beyond just a handful of tackles, catches, completions. When that starts happening we might be in position to make a serious playoff run. I'm not criticizing the '06 class--just saying what needs to happen to become a contender. We also need to nail this year's draft to get younger and fill holes (O-line!). Go 'phins!:dolphins:

The age of our D is a major concern for us. They are a great unit NOW but time moves quickly and we need to groom replacements for the future sooner than later or we will be rebuilding a defensive line as well as trying to put our offensive line together at the same time. THAT IS NOT A DESIREABLE SITUATION!:fire:

The biggest concern of mine going into 2007 will be whether we have turnovers at the OC and DC positions... This team needs consistancy with coordinators... THis, IMHO, is the biggest reason for the slow start this year... Had Linhan stayed, I believe we would have been out the door a heck of a lot quicker...

It takes time for the relationship to develop between the coodinators and the players... Time to understand the individual strengths and weaknesses of each player, developing game plans based on those weaknesses and strengths...

This team only needs continuity from the coaching staff and key leaders on the team... IF we keep what we have in the coaching staff and the veteran leadership on the team, I feel pretty damn good about next year!

Agree completely, there is the "New NFL" where the dollar dictates. We can't stop coordinators from exploring opportunites but when you land talent and they perform all bets are off. It's up to head coach to create a system that is tolerant to this occuring and you only need to look at, and I hate to admit it, the Patsies, and you see an example of winning regardless of the coordinators. This is a concern right now because Saban needs the chance to build a sustained coaching staff long enough to build HIS FOOTPRINT. It will happen, I just think Wayne allowed him to go after the best however the downside is a short tenure for this type of talent. It's a "Catch 22"!

It all depends on how the rest of this year plays out, and how well our offseason is.

With a good Free agent splah with max Starks Asante Samuel manuwai and Adaluis Thomas we should be okay!! Starks only being the expensive linemen

Dunno about next year. Defense is getting older, especially the front 7.
And still not sure about Daunte.

daunte at 100% = best offense miamis had since danny boy
