Is 2015 REALLY playoffs or bust?

Ross has once again stated he expects playoffs next year, but should we really believe him?

If the Dolphins end up in a similar situation next year (narrowly miss playoffs), do you think Philbin will be fired or will the excuses continue to work?

I think the QB improvement saved him this year but if he has 4 years w/ never reaching postseason nothing will save him next year.
 
Joe has is worst season as coach next year, ironically enough, it will be his easiest schedule.

Tannenbuam is allowed to clear house (finally) next offseason and he is allowed to set up a FO with HC.
 
I don't believe anything Steve Ross says. We'll probably go 7-9 again and he'll make some more lame-ass excuses as to why he believes in Philbin, after giving him another extension.

IMO, Ross's vote of confidence is a 1-year deal. Tannenbaum will either make the call on Ross' behalf, or heavily influence it.

I think if he misses the playoffs for any reason besides catastrophic injury to Tannehill, it's bye-bye.

Basically.

You have a HC and GM on 'final year'. I don't care about whatever contract extension Philbin got, that was more of a smoke screen so FA's would not be scared away. No playoffs, both Hickey and Philbin are gone.

Tannenbaum steps in as the new GM and calls the shots.

Move on to player personel, Pouncey needs a new deal, Tannehill new deal or option, Wallace cap disaster can come to a end, Wake is up in age.

Could be a receipe for some major changes.
 
There is no way he doesn't clean house if they miss the playoffs. The team has too many talented players to not make it year after year.
 
Better be. Philbin will have been given an appropriate amount of time of (4-5 years, IMO) that a HC should be given to make his stamp on the team and the entire staff will have worked together for more than a year. I didn't see major changes coming this year because of the staff and FO turnover that we had last year and I expected Ross to see his decisions thru for more than just one season. If we don't see drastic improvements next year, I have to believe we will clean house and begin anew.
 
Another year of Philbin will be worth all the posts from Hayden Fox. If we go 2-14 next year we need another year of Philbin lol.
 
ross said he absolutely wanted to see improvement this year. if anyone thinks this team improved theyre brain dead...which is exactly what mr.magoo is when it comes to this team. key word here is continuity.

if manning hangs em up and we dont make the playoffs in 2015 i'd fire everybody...every last one of em

i do think its playoffs or walk the plank next year...4 years is enough time to build a roster if you know what you are doing...and you can win a lot of football games with the qb we have...
