Is 790 really sticking with Cefalo for Play By Play next season?

Im just watching some highlights on Miamidolphins.com and Im sorry, but his play by play is dreadful.. He is about as descriptive as blind man at the Guggenheim..

"Play action fake, throws to Chambers. GOT IT!" *grunts*

It truly is painful to listen too.. Any chance Boog Sciambi will get the job next season?
 
Cefalo is AWFUL.

790 desparately needs a new play by play guy. Their desire to have an "all Dolphin/former Dolphin" broadcast has proven to be a disaster.

I don't know what the numbers look like, but I'm sure WQAM is killing them in ratings with their pre and postgame show. The Big O or Keith Byars? That's an easy choice...who wants to hear Keith Byars with his mumbling monotone voice, spewing out a "you know" every 10 seconds? It's disgusting.

I REALLY miss Mandich & Zimpher...gone are the days where I muted the TV and turned the radio broadcast on.
 
yeah, Cefalo lacks in some areas, i usually only can listen to the games on the radio. its a rare occaision that a Dolphins game gets shown in Tucson, Arizona.
 
Yeah, I brought this up in a thread a few weeks ago. He doesn't describe what the action is and seldom even states what the field progress is. Sometimes he forgets to tell you where the ball is at after the play is over.
 
As bad as Cefalo is, Joe Rose is worse. I like Joe's morning show, where him being a dufus is part of the show. But he just sounds stupid as a color commentator, and his post-game interviews are pathetic. He sounds like a kid on a school paper begging for an interview in a whisper.
When Yeremiah Bell forced that fumble he said, "Yeremiah was a bullfrog, and he was a good friend of mine!" What a dork. He's an embarrassment.
 
I have the dish...the station is 5 seconds ahead of the t.v...sooo after 30 years of listening to the away games on the radio, with the sound turned off..I can no longer do it...the response from 790 was, joking I hope, that since the d olphins stink so bad, you can hear it on the radio, and then if you choose not to watch the play, you can turn your head...nice!

i agree that this team is horrible, Cefalo in particular. zimpher and mandich were great and david and mandich were better after the first year. but the blame is on the fins organization. i think they choose the commentators not the station. the station didn't want to have the guys calling games on one station while both having shows on another station, plus the fins wanted to hire all former fins and that's why boog didn't get the job. too bad b/c i think he would have been great.
 
the thing i hate the most is just the repetetive commentary. i mean, its like "Gus drops back to pass, GOT A RECIEVER AND.....CAUGHT! Chambers for a 9 yard gain" and then two plays later "Gus drops back to pass, GOT A RECIEVER AND...YES! Chambers for a 13 yard gain" or my favourite from the last game "Frerotte back to pass...TOUCHDOWN!!!!!! Chris Chambers Touchdown!!"

Man, I know what you mean.. Its just downright hilarious.. Its like playing fill in the blanks with your head.
 
Not really related to the dolphins but while we're on the subject of radio, has anyone ever noticed how God-awful that Indianapolis Colts announcer is? I've never heard anyone with such an annoying voice in my entire life. I'm sure finfans in Indianapolis or Indiana know what I'm talking about. But as for the topic at hand, I agree, its time to bring mandich back
 
I hate it when there is a field goal and he says "It's up and it's... (10 sec later) good/bad!" I know it takes a while to see if it is good but not that long!!
