Let me 1st say that I have faith and truely believe that the Dolphins are a very good football team and with 2-3 players we could be in the position for a good run to the show. I'm just asking how would other feel is we went something like 9-7. 9-7 is not a bad year not great but good. Is this exceptable? In addition how many fans would feel we dropped the ball if we end up with a record like that and instead of addressing the holes that we have in FA we address them in the draft and flop?

I think we are going to draft a CB and WR. I think this is the best thing to do however in the same breath I think we should grab a capable FA for insuracne. Dre bly or bodden comes to mind at the corner spot. As for WR I think we can go into the draft without signing a FA at this time. I think the group is good enough to get the job done.

thoughts?

it matters how we play throughout the games. how we play in the wins, and how we played in the losses. it matters on how and where our team have improoved since the '08 season..... moving forward is possitive!!!

obviously it is a tougher schedule this time around too, and othr teams are gonna want to hut us down after the unbelievable comeback in '08!!!

Careful posting something like that around here, but yes I think thats going to be our record next year 9-7 or 10-6.

11-5 has our expectations to high

if you had told me last august that we would go 6-10 in '08 and 9-7 in '09, then I would have been satisfied

The Schedule is brutal next year. Im really hoping we can get a Corner and WR who can immediately contribute. ST is also a key. If we are 9-7 and in the playoffs its all good. Even if we go 9-7 its all good, but some people are gonna be over expecting. We did just win our division and while Im one of the few that understands this team still has holes there is alot of casual fans that dont.

9-7 is fine with me. I know we are all excited about the 11-5 season, but this is a 3 to 4 year project. We are not quite built to win in the playoffs yet, we still have too many weakness. The wildcat was put in because we couln't run the ball, that should tell you something. I think we will take a step back but only because the FO has a bigger picture for this team.

I too think we will go something like 9-7 or 10-6. I guess what I am asking is is this a step back? Who would consider this regressing?

I'd be cool with going 9-7 with a 1st place schedule so long as the team gets the players they need the following year to get deep in the playoffs.

I don't buy the "3-4 years project" talk. If that was the case, you wouldn't start "year 1" 11-5. Whether the team overachieved or not, I believe they are a few players from being a great team.

It's not regressing because we went from the easiest schedule to one of the hardest.

I know our schedule looks rough next year, but you also have to think that the teams we play are looking at us thinking the same thing. I heard a lot of teams say they hated playing the Dolphins this past season.

No I don't think it is regressing. Lets face it there are only a hand full of teams that avg. double digit wins every year. This is a good team we are just not one of the top teams in the league JUST YET. 9-7 is considered a good year. I don't think 9-7 gets you into the playoffs however and thats what I'm trying to get out of other dolphon fans. Are you willing to accept 9-7 to go 13-5?

9-7 sounds about right. That would put somewhere in the teens come 2010 draft, With a good amount of cap room to hopefully resign our players and to bring in a few new young blood, we should be right in the thick of it the following season.
