Look at all the big names we have missed out on, and how 50+% of this board now thinks the sky is falling , fire everyone immediately, etc etc. But when you analyze them further, it's really a joke how upset people are...

Manning - 2-4 good years left at most. Would bring us to the playoffs, but doubt we would get to the superbowl with him. What is the point of having him as our starter and paying TONS of money for him? A team that is closer than us is a much better fit for him.

Matt Flynn - Turn on the tape and you see a copy of Matt Moore.... Seattle's small contract that he agreed to proves this.. WAY over hyped, probably won't be very good........ GLAD we didn't sign him.

Marshall - Can't seem to stay out of trouble. He is 1-2 incidents away from being suspended for a long time. He may very well be suspended for this year. Got value out of him now while we still can. Again, he may help us make the playoffs, but he is also aging and won't be of much value in a few years. Might as well trade him now while we can get 2 third round picks still.... Great move for a team like ours.

RG3 - Washington drafted #6... we draft #8. We would have had to pay MORE than washington, who already over payed by a lot. Really? You guys are mad about this one too? I'm sorry but the price was just way too high, maybe if we were drafting higher than 8 we would have had a chance at this.

OK so these are the moves that people are so mad at? Ireland should be immediately fired etc?? Honestly to me it looks like so far we've made a lot of the right moves...... I really think Ireland is a lot smarter than most people here give him credit for, and he only even had discussions with these players to appease the rabid, insane, sometimes childish fan base....

you forgot to add something. We have not drafted a good QB since 1983 and we wont make any playoffs without one. Its 2012 and the clock is ticking.

but my point is, their really werent any options available to instantly solidify our QB position... and also the draft hasn't even happened yet..

yet everyone on this board thinks we are making horrible horrible moves?

Definitely. Its always a good tactic to present your franchise as the laughing stock of the league, a place where backups don't want to come.

The fact is how the all those qbs turn the dolphins down cause of MR IRELAND

I dont understand everyone either. I dont think any moves out there minus Peyton Manning signing would have been home runs. Flynn was a potential good pick up, but if Philbin thought Flynn would be a franchise QB he would have had that kid signed and offered a lot more $.

When you have more talent leaving your club than you are bringing in....
When you are creating more holes than you are filling....

DURING FREE AGENCY when you are supposed to be filling in holes so you can maximize your draft, i call it making horrible moves.

As an outsider looking in there has to be something In that FO that is turning people off.

1. Harbaugh
2. Fisher
3. Manning
4. Flynn - this one really leads me to think there is something up in the FO. He would have came right in as the Starter for his old OC and old offense. That would have been worth a little less than competing in Seattle. Looking at his contract in SEA it really is a prove it contract. You would think he knows he would have the best chance of success and hence big money playing in an offense that he has learned in.

Not trying to pile on here but that starts making me wonder.

Every year when we fail in free agency we get the draft will fix everything line! Guess what they fail there too! All those draft picks and they have yet to draft a imoact game changing player.

No need to apologize... logic is welcome, even for those who refuse to see it

I want to ask you one question... and please answer honestly.

Have you watched the game film of Matt Flynn??

And if you have, did you see how mediocre he looks?!?!?

As to manning, he wants to go somewhere he can win a SUPERBOWL right away, this isn't the place.

With the amount of picks the rams are getting, and Bradford already in place, Fisher made a good move by going to the Rams.. they have an easier division and a bright future. the afc east is NOT like the pathetic NFC west

Harbaugh I can't explain , but the other 3 are pretty self explanatory when you look into them.... so really we only bungled 1 potential good signing that I can see...

dont worry... we'll get it right next year!

So let me get this straight... you are saying that because proven winners are choosing other teams who have been TERRIBLE over the past decade but have found ways to turn their franchises around over the dolphins who cant seem to wake up... is a good thing for the dolphins?

We have been picked over by the 49ers, Rams, and Seahawks.... not because we didnt want them, because we did want those players.. not because we didnt offer enough money.. because we offered equal money... but because they can plainly see something is broken here.

They see a problem.. some of us here see a problem. and until that is fixed. we will continue to sit stagnant in mediocrity

Don't worry... Ireland will save us with more Guards, Tackles, and 3 - 4 DE's in the draft!

We are going to revolutionize the game by employing an "ALL TACKLE" formation where we line up a LT in the QB spot!

** YES, I am sick of all the negative posts on the site. Give the front office some time to clean up the stink Parcells left behind.

** LOVE to have him for the short term excitement around here but have a feeling we will look back and be glad he did not come here. I like thi idea of building through the draft to better manage the cap space and bring in young talent (see packers and giants).

Matt Flynn - Turn on the tape and you see a copy of Matt Moore.... Seattle's small contract that he agreed to proves this.. WAY over hyped, probably won't be very good........ GLAD we didn't sign him.

** I trust Philbin that he is not worth the extra money. Everyone wanted Kolb last year and we all know how that turned out. Time will only tell how this will turn out but if he was that great, I believe Philbin would of pushed to make it happen.

Marshall - Can't seem to stay out of trouble. He is 1-2 incidents away from being suspended for a long time. He may very well be suspended for this year. Got value out of him now while we still can. ** Yes, Marshall put up some good numbers put when it counted, he dropped the easy touchdowns in the endzone even when they were put in the "bread basket". Then he goes to the probowl and catches 4 touchdowns when it means nothing and throws his quarterback under the bus. Not the type of guy you want on your team. Love to see what Moores and the teams numbers would look like if he catched the #$&%# ball!

I also like Ireland and Ross. Give them a chance to clean up the mess. I still believe the (5) biggest problems last year were:

1. The coach half time game planning. The better teams master this and last year our coaches would crap themselves at half time. The first half of most of the games showed we had talent but the better coaches were able to adjust at halftime. Hopefully Philbin can fix this.
2. Stop dropping the key plays (Marshall) - getting rid of Marshall sends a message and allows the young talent to develop
3. Offensive line - QB running for his life. The better teams allowed their QB to sit back and pick apart their opponents.

4. Need a pass rusher to go with Wake. Don't let the opponents QB have all day back there.
5. QB - Moore done some good things last year but we need some competition to ensure we have some strong options for the future. Draft and develop a young QB and try to bring in a highly experienced QB to learn from.
