Is all this posturing? Wow when you look at it maybe?

That is the real problem here. We can't fix our team in free agency, clearly. And over the past 4 years, we've proven we can't fix it through the draft either. Ireland never should have been hired as GM. We needed an experienced GM with a track record of drafting great players. Instead, we got a scout for Parcells. Now, we're tied to him and he is destroying this franchise. And I don't want to hear anything about what a great draft he had last year on his own. Bull. Pouncey is solid, but you should not draft a center that high when your team is desperate for playmakers. Daniel Thomas is an unknown. Gates is an unknown. Clay is an unknown. So, what do we have from last year's draft??

I want to ask you one question... and please answer honestly.

Have you watched the game film of Matt Flynn??

And if you have, did you see how mediocre he looks?!?!?

As to manning, he wants to go somewhere he can win a SUPERBOWL right away, this isn't the place.

With the amount of picks the rams are getting, and Bradford already in place, Fisher made a good move by going to the Rams.. they have an easier division and a bright future. the afc east is NOT like the pathetic NFC west

Harbaugh I can't explain , but the other 3 are pretty self explanatory when you look into them.... so really we only bungled 1 potential good signing that I can see...

I agree on Flynn. I don't like him. But point is he was TGTed by you all strong and I believe the reports that say that.

Fisher would have signed if was given roster power (obviously Ireland) would not give it up.

Sorry if it stings I know being a Bills fan.

When you have NFL players talking bad about your FO and you have missed on all your top TGTs there is an issue.

The no state tax and life style of South Beach is not trumping an issue that players are seeing.

When you have more talent leaving your club than you are bringing in....
When you are creating more holes than you are filling....

DURING FREE AGENCY when you are supposed to be filling in holes so you can maximize your draft, i call it making horrible moves.

I completely disagree. We've attempted the quick fix for years and the list of Free Agent failures is long. Building the draft and filling needs that way needs to be the focus which is exactly what I see happening now. Manning was a long shot, one hit and he could have been done for good, Flynn wanted more than he is worth and isn't much better than what we already have so why over pay.

I agree that as an organization the image needs a complete makeover. On that note Ross needs to stay behind the scenes and let the football folks do the talking.

Philbin has said he wants to build through the draft. It's what the consistent established organizations have done, look at Pitt, Green Bay and to a lesser extent Philly (until last year that is but look where that spending spree got them). Ireland is learning on the job but he has drafted fairly well. Hopefully he'll rely more on what Philibin and the coaching staff have to offer and things will start to sync up, but for now I completely agree with the approach of not over spending.

so you're saying just because we "targetted" flynn and manning there must be something wrong with the franchise now that we didnt sign them?!?! I don't buy that, Manning makes his own decisions, and Matt Moore > Matt Flynn. No point in overpaying for people we don't need....

honestly I think we did that just to placate the rabid , mouth-breathing , crazed fan base that jumps on their own team at any and every chance.

Again on fisher, I am 100% convinced he took the Rams job because he has a much better chance to be successful in a weaker division. He has boatloads of first round picks in the next few years to build with. He DOES NOT have to play against belichick and brady, the NY (went to the afc championship 2 years in a row with mark freaking sanchez) JETS, and the Bills with fitzpatrick who seem to start 6-2 every year, and yet finish 8-8.

I' m sry but the AFC east is top 2-3 division in football, while the NFC west is arguably the WORST

Look. I am not saying you have to think the same. As a can though you should start questioning. As a Bills can I know what it is like to have Free Agents turn you down. Bills have a reputation amongst UFA players as well. Maybe the signing of Mario Williams changes that.

But bottom line coming from a fan whose team has a rep right or wrong I see the same thing here. Now you have players talking about as well. Take the rose glasses off and you will see it as well.

I really need to know how you all think this front office can make this team a playoff contender through the draft given that we have yet to draft any stars outside of maybe Long( injury concerns notwithstanding)

I dont think Philbin was truely sold on Flynn honestly...In fact some reports Ive read, said he would have STILL competed with Moore in training camp...even in Seattle he isnt being penciled in as the starter...

Harbaugh wanted to stay on the west coast...I think Ross jet setted cross country to try to change his mind, but the fact that Harbaugh loved the California lifestyle and wouldnt have to up root his family to move cross country made him going to San Fran almost a lock unless we made him THE highest paid coach EVER lol..

Fisher has said a few times he was really impressed by Ireland and would have loved to have him in STL...Signing Fisher was always going to be an uphill battle again, his agents son works for the Rams...Also Fisher is over rated as a head coach in my opinion...Most of us fans wanted a "high powered" offense and Fisher would have been more of the ground and pound type coach...

Manning...the more that comes out, the more I think its more about money than anything...Right now the only team of the 3 that are still involved in the pursuit of him are set to be able to make a serious run..and thats San Fran...Denver other than the Defense, eh...IDK...question marks at WR...Tennessee...other than Chris Johnson what do they have? Britt either cant stay out of trouble or gets hurt...plus that D is suspect...

The fact is how the all those qbs turn the dolphins down cause of MR IRELAND

ALL these QB's? Manning has turned down every team so far, and they wouldn't overpay for Flynn. Don't you think you are overreacting a bit?

There's been one player that has done that, in response to a fan. I wouldn't call this an epidemic. But being a Bills fan i could see how you would think so.

...Long...Pouncey...Clay...Vonte..Bess...Dan Carpenter..Odrick...

I bet it is not just one player. How many times have you heard a player talk bad about the Bills front office? Not often but guess what that perception existed.

Sorry to say I think the question that was asked of Dez. Openly courting Harbaugh when Sparano is still on your payroll Has created a perception within the league circles.

...Long...Pouncey...Clay...Vonte..Bess...Dan Carpenter..Odrick...

So with 4 years of drafting... you mention the number 1 pick overall, a center with 1 year of experience, a good corner....

then you mention Bess who WASNT DRAFTED.
Our mediocre Kicker.
And a part time DE who was missed an entire year (half his career) who might be good.

Forgive me if im not overwhelmed by Irelands fantastic drafting history. lol

I think you and I agree on the premise but i did a poor job explaining my point.

You absolutely need to build through the draft, and avoid quick fixes. However, Free Agency is an aid to minimize your glaring needs going into the draft. You want to be improving your team in between the last game of the season and the draft, not creating more holes. I believe we are creating more holes..

Manning and Flynn are just the QB spotlight issues. But what about swinging and missing on the best RT on the market, Eric Winston. Or shipping away the only real receiver we have for pennies. If you want to move him, fine, but at least get some value. We had glaring needs, now we have more... moving in the wrong direction if you ask me

I heard a rumor that GM goal is to win a super bowl with an undrafted FA. Wait that was when he was in Dallas. Now he just wants to win one with castoffs coming off back surgery who have been cut for Blaine Gabbert.

Anyone see Bridge over the River Kwai lately. Madness Madness! GM is that Colonel scratching his head at the end of the movie.
