Is anyone worried about Ryan Tannehll's small hands?

Tannehill having small hands is a minor issue. His decision making, the type of ball he throws in crucial situations, and happy feet worry me more.
I would take him in round 2. He should still be sitting there IMHO.

Keep dreaming. Tannehill will be and should be a first round pick.

Tannehill rolls out alot and makes plays out of extended pocket and is good throwing on the run, which is why he is getting the love. He is athletic. His hands would be a problem if he were Ryan Mallett.

As far as the above post on him throwing INT's late in ball games, this is a regular occurance for any QB who is trying to make something happen when down with time being a factor. Its like having to start pressing in basketball cus your down 7 with only 2 minutes left. It is going to happen.

Peyton Manning threw alot of picks before he became great.

His small hands aren't what worries me. There is much more than that that says, "this guy is not worth a #8"

No it doesn't bother me at all, vick has 8 1/2 inch hands and he throws a real pretty ball with some zip on it, chris chandler had really small hands and led the falcons to a superbowl, culpepper had small hands and had a pretty successful NFL career, if it was a problem guys like polian, mayock, mcshay would be bringing it up.

How about the INT's when his team is up by 7+pts? There were more than a few of those. But continue to over look those, and just his 'potential'.

Ozzy rules!!

Is anyone worried about Ryan Tannehll's small hands?

NO, but I have to admit I am becoming annoyed with Sanchez and his small mouth. And could SOMEONE buy to boy a razor, starting to get a bit chaffed down there...

Tannehill is NOT worth the 8th overall pick!!! He is NOT!!!

I agree 100%. There is no way with the body of work we have seen from him that he is worth the 8th overall pick. But the problem comes from the fact that there is NEVER going to be a QB worth the spot you are picking because QBs are overpriced in the NFL. If you wait until a QB falls to you that is worth the pick you have to use, someone ahead of you will pick an undervalued QB just because they understand you HAVE to over pick QBs in the 1st round or you will NEVER get one.

What I know is that we have been waiting since 83 for a QB to FALL to us in the first rd. Almost 30 years, and it will be 30 more if we just WAIT on one to fall. I will say this, I would be shocked if we take him and we are sitting here next year this time feeling better than what the jags feel now after reaching for a first rd QB. Tannehill WON'T be good the first year. But if the FO feels he is worth the reach then I am on board, and if they take a pass on him I am good with that also. But we have to take a QB in rounds one or two, and keep doing it every year until we find one. Otherwise whats the point?? I personally think Weeden is the 2nd best QB in the draft, and will probably put up the best numbers of ALL QBs this year depending on where he goes. But he has roughly half his NFL shelf life behind him. Not sure what kind of value I would put on that. Would not be offended if he was a dolphin however. He has the best mentallity of any of the QBs. He talks exactly the way Marino did. He is the most confident of any of the QBs including Luck. If not for his age I would have him 1B to Lucks 1A. I also think Wilson is highly underated, and a great fit for the WCO. Wilson was the highest rated QB last year and only threw 4 picks all years. He also threw down field better than ANYONE.

So I am not against picking Tannehill and not for it, but we have to get a QB.

Not worried about small hands because coaching staff knows him better than any of us. They wont draft him if they don't think he fits!

His are the same size as Pat White's. (9 inches across)

The NFL football is larger then the college one.

And game balls are different from ones used at Pro days.

What should be more worrisome is that Tannehill is being hyped to be a "franchise QB" when he wasn't even good enough to be a backup QB in college for his first two seasons. How many "franchise QBs" spent half their college careers at another position?

Tannehill doesn't have only 19 starts because he left school early; he's a fifth year senior who was redshirted as a freshman. He has only 19 starts because he wasn't good enough to be a backup or starting QB on a team that hasn't produced a decent NFL QB since the merger.
