Is Beck "Where It's At" or a "Loser, Baby"?

The more tape I saw of the guy, the way he carried himself, and everything including his enthusiasm to be here, it looks to me that we might have finally found our guy.. Unfortunately he is a tad older than we were looking for in a QB of the future, but that didnt stop Steve Young from getting to the Hall..

If everything pans out, our future will be interesting and finally FUN to watch again..

I think we'll be looking for another new coach and GM by 2010 unless either Beck is the guy or the folks in power otherwise solve the problem. I'm rooting for this guy and our current staff, of course.

Yea im glad we got him too, but his age worrys me a bit, sine by season starts he turns 26. How many years do you think he will sit till start? 1? I hope he sits just 1 year so he can start, at age 27, an early 27.
 
I think we got the 2nd to 3rd best QB in an extremely weak QB class. If only we would have kept Gus Frerotte and traded up to draft Jay Cutler last year. Never would have lost the 2nd on Culpepper. Would have had a 5th this year. And we would have a quarterback ready to step in this year and for the forseeable future. But we can only work with what we have, right? And right now Cam, Randy and Terry Shea, 3 guys who I trust more than anyone on this message board, like Beck and think he's the guy. So we'll see how it goes.
 
How did this get moved to the Lounge? More evidence that mods read thread titles and not the actual post?
 
Its hard at this point to not like Beck from what I see and read. He seems like a guy you want leading your team as far as off the field kinda stuff. I think the age is an issue but if he starts playing this year that can be overlooked...by the way the big upside was he is mature and ready so why shouldn't he play this year?

I really don't like QB's from smaller conferances though. Yeah there are success stories but many, many more failures. We can all sit and smile about Becks stats when compared next to Quinn but not only did Quinn have to play big boy football, he also holds what...about 25 ND QB records. Pretty impresive.

I am content at the QB position though for now. It looks like there is someone there at least for now.

Anyone will tell you that this was a pretty weak QB class. There's a huge drop off in talent from JeMarcus Russel. Any of the QBs in this class would have been 2nd rounders last year. Or at least picked after Young/Leinart/Cutler.

Hey, any time you can work a link to a Beck song into your post, you're on the Doc's :up: list!

Regarding the matter at hand, I seriously believe we will see Beck starting by the end of 2007 and starting effectively by 2008. He seems the real deal to me.
