I keep hearing, what I suspect are nothing but rumors, about RB R. Brown holding out, and not reporting to Training Camp on time. Then there are these other rumors about RB L. Gordon actually being considered our starting RB on opening day too....

Where is this stuff coming from, and who's reporting these things???....

Sound like a bunch of BS to me, and I'm sick of hearing it. Why in the hell would Brown hold out in the first place??...He knows he'll get his contract, and he's a smart kid who sounds like he's committed to this franchise. I would think Saban and our guys would be able to convince Brown to show, and participate on the opening day of TC, and everyday there after, contract or not....

Is this a serious issue, or just serious Horse****!!!....

Please. Before I go down to TC myself, I want the facts behind these ridiculous rumors to be buried. I still can't believe Brown would hold out....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

I've heard his agent is pretty normal, not like Drew Rosenhouse, and i think Ronnie wants to play so i think he will sign for good money but not be to hard... i hope

i think he just waiting for the #1 to sign so he knows what the rate is...thats usually how it happens, the #1 dictates what the #2 gets...if alex holds out then there might b a concern.....yeah ronnie may miss a bit of TC...who knows the duration......yeah, due to his character that he has shown thus far, i wouldnt anticipate him holding out to long

That would be a bad move for Brown if he did hold out. Not the way you want to start out your pro career.
Then you are saying that half of the 1st rounders probably over the last 10 years started their career's out badly?

Yeah his agent wants to wait until after Smith is signed so he can get fair value in Ronnie's contract.

What's so hard to believe about Gordon starting. If brown doesnt report or is still un-signed with ricky's 4 game suspension who else is going to start?

That's just the thing, when you've got a RB as talented as Ronnie Brown on you're roster, there's no reason Gordon should be starting to begin with...

The problem with this situation is that Ronnie is technically declared a holdout as we enter camp a week earlier than most teams. It is possible that Alex Smith could sign the day before the Niners enter camp and never become a holdout, whilst Ronnie would then have missed a week of camp.

The problem, I feel, will furthermore come due to Alex Smith's hesitancy to sign until he gets the best possible deal. Todd France pretty much won't have any discussions with Saban until then -- So once Alex Smith signs, there's still the problem of working out a contract for Ronnie which may take another week or two.

My feeling is that Ronnie will indeed sign before Alex Smith, although too late to get into any visible form. I'm pretty sure Alex Smith is more than willing to hold out to the brink of the season and I think the Dolphins will then step in to close Ronnie's deal.

Personally, given that the only Nat. televised game I'll get to see this season is the H.O.F. game, I would love to see him signed by then, but the chances of that, IMO, are about 25%.

Just relax Blitz... Ronnie is going to be called a "holdout" due to him not being in the HoF game.. whoopie. I was reading an article on NFL.com about him being a "holdout". I am in no way a RB fan, so don't think I'm smoothing it over. High picks always take longer to sign, because the are usually the last to get signed. Teams jockey for players in FA, and such. It's been so long for us to pick that high, many forget the headaches that go with signing that top pick. The top 10 usually wont sign until #1 does. And SF's FO is a Pain in the A$$. Thats basically what the NFL.com article stated. Ronnie is a "holdout" because of the catch 22 of signing a top pick, that isnt #1, and us playing earlier then anybody else. If we had a week 1 pre-season game, then he wouldn't be considered a holdout... Its all relative to a bunch of crap...
