I for one think he is underrated, however considering his injury,I would have to agree Brown wil end up somewhere in the 20's in fantasy this season.Even though Browns gonig to be 100%,it doesnt mean the time is right.Especially since we have Ricky,I believe Brown will start the season, but Williams will really be the man this year,or at least a big part of this season...

some comments by some people in the ESPN Article...

I THINK THEY SHOULD US RICKY AND RONNIE IN THE BACK FEILD, RICKY AT FULL BACK. RONNIE IS NOT OVERRATED AND ALL THE TEAMS THAT ARE WINNING IN THE NFL ARE RUNNING TWO BACKS

As a die hard Fish fanI think he might be a little overated to pick as your 1st back.Don't get me wrong,if he's a 100% and motivated he is the best reliable Dolphin back I have seen in my 34 years of life. But playing alongside Rick Williams will slow his Fantasy numbers down.Ricky is a fast, powerful runner;A real workhose. He can run up the gut,lay a linebacker on his back and then knock it outside and take it to the house.Ronnie's no slouch either. Our lineman corps seems to have improved this year so that should help the stats.I think the coaches will give Brown his due, seeing most of the reps early on.We must believe that the coaches won't be able to ignore the power of Ricky and his value of running it thru the gaurds and giving Chad some play action calls on first and second downs;using Ronnie on 3rd downs.I would find it hard to believe that if the Fins can get the ball inside the opponents 10 yard line that Ricky wont be getting the T.D.So if Ricky can keep his head in the game and the weed out I think his numbers wil be better than Brown's.The only way I would ever pick Ronnie in the early 3 rounds would be if I could be sure to grab Ricky in the late 12 ,13 rounds. On one of my teams I picked him as high as a fourth round.I took a chance on him, just like Miami did. GO DOLPHINS

This year, Brown is OVERRATED. I expect Ricky to put up equal, if not slightly better numbers than Brown this year.
no way the pot head puts up any decent numbers this year. he will be hurt or tossed out of the league for good by week 5.

Sorry Stephania "At this point it is unclear if Henne or Pennington will start", They didnt pay 6 mil a year for Pennington to be a backup.

so not over-rated... BROWN come from the sec " COSA NOSTRA " let us all be serious here

I think brown is underrated when he is 100% he is one of the top backs in the league

I tend to fall in the middle. I think Ronnie is way overrated by most phin fans, but underrated by the average nfl fan. He's been great at times (beginning of last year), but he still has a lot to prove in order to be an elite back.

How is he "over rated" he hasn't even hit his peak yet. Everybody knows if this guy could stay healthy and play for a team with any shred of actually talent around him he would be a very solid NFL back. I'm as bold to say if you put Brown in Philadelphia he's just as good a back as Brian Westbrook.

actually Brown is better than Westbrook whenhealthy...IMO anyway..

Very good summary. He's wildly overstated on this site.

I also dispute he was great at the beginning of last year. We didn't win a game in that stretch. The most overrated horses are ones who make meaningless charges in races they never threatened to win. Very apt term: Sucker horses.

The guy was 2nd pick of the draft. Yet 4 seasons later he's hardly a focal point when the team is evaluated. A back who basically hasn't played in 4 years is considered equal or superior. The oddsmakers here wouldn't adjust Miami one tenth of a point downward if Brown were out. I've had specific conversations in that regard. Handicappers here virtually never mention Ronnie.

Fantasy, who cares.

I concede I have a bias. A 5th year senior RB who was rated a 2nd rounder heading into his senior year can't be the 2nd pick of the NFL draft. You can pick him there but the odds he'll fully repay the investment are very poor.

Ronnie seems like a good guy, albeit not exactly the commitment level of the early '70s Dolphins. But I'm always going to evaluate big picture first and that resume doesn't equate to #2. This year we did it the right way, taking a guy who was always ranked as a premier pick.

just curious but knowing what you know today whom would of you choosen at that spot in the draft?

I don't think we know what brown is yet b/c he hasn't played a full season. he was certianly on his way to a great season last year but he needs to stay healthy and prove it on the field.

You can't hang that on Ronnie, he can't play QB and defense also. He did what he had to do, and with how he was running we should have won games. He was our only bright spot on a pathetic season. It's a shame he went down on an INT like that.

I say he is underrated. Ronnie is deadly when healthy. Last year he was playing up to his draft spot. Out the back as a reciever he is only matched by Westbrook imo and do i need to remind you of the run against Oakland where he made ole boy look like a pop warner player?

The only problem I have ever seen with Ronnie is when he breaks a run he always get run down. When Ricky break.....That's all she wrote.

underrated. the fact that people still don't think he's an elite back when healthy seals it for me.

Overrated. Great backs tend to remain healthy and are very consistent. I'm not saying RB should play through pain and be as durable as say, Emmit Smith, but he needs to play through a full season before anyone calls him elite.

so edgerrin james wasn't a great back then???

ronnie's acl was a result of trying to chase down one of cleo lemons brain farts. could happen to anyone. his finger was a result of a helmet face bar impact. how does that show ronnie isn't durable???

the guy saw 8 and 9 men in the box last year on every carry cause we had no qb who could threaten vertically and STILL was the only offensive threat we had last year and was well on his way to a pro bowl birth b4 cleos catastrophe.

I agree, even though I think if Ricky wasn't so amazing his first season, Ronnie could have played through the pain . . . and in the second season he got his pinky caught in a helmet from a stiff arm . . . he maybe could have played through but why when we are out of contention? Third season we know those torn ACL's are unpredictable . . . I don't necessarily think it isn't that he has not been durable, he has been unfortunate as well.

However, Brown is definitely overrated on this site and by fin fans in general. I like the guy alot, but to call him an elite back is just silly, he has to play a full season before we can call him that. Potentially he could be a top 5 back, but he has alot to prove coming off this injury.

BTW, Brown is my favorite Miami Dolphin . . . but this is year 4 of 5 . . and we are gonna have to decide if he is the back to lead this rebuild and if he can come back from this injury, and if not, we need to consider moving on. Big year for Ronnie
