Is Cam Wake in the rookie mini camps?

there was something about the coach getting excited over him, at camp, in the sun sentinel this morning.

Since his addition, Wake has developed a reputation as a weight room "beast," and Sparano needed to know if his strength and athleticism translated to the field.

"I've seen some explosiveness and a lot of fast twitch out of him," Sparano said. "Seeing him on the field, that's what I've seen from him today."

The Dolphins believe Wake, who was on the Giants' training camp roster in 2005, could improve the pass rush

Go to miamidolphins.com they have a couple interviews up as well from 5-1.

People are getting way too excited over him. he is not the equivalent to a college player coming out of the first or second round, guys.

:foundout: Ok guy he has had 39 sacks in 2 years...i know he went up against "weaker" talent but that is still impressive IMO..he is equivalent to a 2-3 round pick

I dunno. I'm usually the first to point out the lack of comparability between the CFL and NFL but the fact of the atter is just on a tangibles and college experience basis if he had the size, athletic ability, drive and motivation that he has now, only he had it all back when he was coming out of college, yeah he could easily have been a 2nd round draft pick.

Bottom line is what OLB prospect in this draft boasts his measurables? Only Michael Johnson and Connor Barwin...and both players could be said, for their own reasons, to be inferior as prospects.

The CFL is funky. Having to start a yard away from offensive tackles can be a big disadvantage. There's a lot of three-step drops in the CFL passing attack because the WRs can get a running head start. On the other hand, OL talent is lesser than the NFL and offenses are not as geared toward pass protection, they leave the 5 OLs to handle it more often than not. A lot of conflicting factors involved. What we do know, though, is that Wake was more than twice as prolific from a pass rush standpoint as the next best sacker in the league.

If he were magically placed in the 2009 NFL Draft I believe he could have easily snuck into the 2nd round.

when more than half of the NFL come lobbying for this guy (which they did), I think being a little excited about Cameron Wake is justified, don't you?
