James Harrison when he first came into the league was not drafted I believe just like Cameron Wake. He struggled in his first 3 years and was out of football before returning to the steelers. Now he is one of the best defensive players in the league. He and Cameron Wake have a similar history and I think Wake will be very effective this year and thats why we passed up linebackers like Clint Sintim and Connor Barwin in this years draft. Expect big things from Cameron Wake, it doesnt matter what league youre in, 30+ sacks in 2 years is very impressive.

Living in Toronto Canada I know Wake is the real deal at the NFL level. He has everything it takes to be great, both mentally and physically.

Signing Wake was a total coup by the Dolphins. And those of you who were doubting him here, I will be there to pull up old threads and quote you making you look totally foolish.

Just you watch. Most people here have no idea what a good olb they are getting.

Just you watch...

I've seen only as much as I can through YouTube and stuff. In your experience seeing him up there what do you think is a realistic possibility for his stats in a starting season? Also, is there a player in the NFL that you would say he most closely resembles style-wise?

I think the Cameron Wake hype needs to subside a bit.

I'd honestly be suprised if dude makes the 53.

I have season tickets with another CFL team and watch Wake on a regular basis so I can comfotably comment on this.

First of all....this guy is as good as anyone we could've drafted in the 1st or 2nd round as far as projection OLB goes. We basically picked up another draft pick when we signed him. Before he even signed with us I said that he belong in the NFL and is going to be a GREAT OLB. I would compare him to a smaller Julius Peppers, as I think one of his best attributes is his pure athleticism and ability to rush the passer.

Realistically for his first season I see between 7-10 sacks...Probably improving in subsequent years.

hahahahaha, what are you basing this on, have you ever seen him play, as a BC resident I can tell you I've actually seen him play, the only reason he wasn't drafted was due to injuries and he wasn't focused on football. He put up pretty solid numbers at Penn St. and he doesn't go to clubs anymore, this guy is all football all the time and should be a 10 sack guy, questioning him being on the final 53 man roster is ignorant.

Thanks a lot man. Seems like an educated prediction. Appreciate it.

I think the FO has high hopes for Wake but that's not the reason why we "passed" on other OLB's......The FO wanted Davis at 25 and tho they had offers to move down they stayed there and took him.....at 44 they just wanted Pat and felt he'd be gone if they waited till the 56th pick....I truly believe that they went by their board and the OLB's they liked were gone before their turn.

Ozzy rules!!

The NFL and CFL are two completly diffrent leagues and two completly diffrent levels of competition(really this goes without saying). That's all I'm going to say. Guy is 28 years old and has been passed on over several times.

I hope Wake comes out the gates flat out beasting. Would be just another testament to the Trifecta's greatness when it comes to evaulating talent. But all I'm saying, just because you were dominant rush end/backer in the CFL, doesn't mean you're going to be one in the National Football League.

I hope this guy is good, but you never know, especially since the DL are 3 years off the line of scrimmage in the CFL. That seems to be a huge advantage for edge rushers in the CFL that he wont have in the NFL. I'm really hoping this kid is special.
