Is daniel thomas better than Mark ingram?

Trade down for Ingram and a second or early third and take Mallet with one of those picks then we still have our third, fifth, and, seventh.

Theoretically, with the benefit of hindsight, that possibly could have happened. Unfortunately we didn't have the benefit of hindsight during the actual draft.

answer to the thread question is no thomas is not better than ingram...ingrams just caught in a numbers game in new orleans...ingram would be producing just as much as thomas if he was here

just give ingram time...

Too soon to tell either way. He is probably more durable than MI.

What we can conclude IMO - at least to this point* is that he's not worse!

No props to Ireland for DT. He used a 2nd rounder which is a pretty damn high pick for a RB. He sure as heck better be good.

I'd give Ireland props if he found a stud RB in the late rounds or as an UDFA but that wasn't the case. Hilliard is just serviceable, Parmele, Sheets and Grigsby were cut.

As for Pouncey, no props for Ireland here either. 15th overall pick invested into a C/G is very high price so he damn well better be a probowler for the next decade. And this was his fault anyway for cutting Satele and wasting huge money on Jake Grove, not to mention Berger.

P.S. Anyone see that amazing nasty block Satele put on a Jet to free Run DMC for that long TD!!! Wow!!!

well I think the arguements are totally differant . Sproles and Bush have quite a few seasons of NFL to judge while ingram and thomas have three games. I like reggie better than Sproles but wont argue that Bush has been better.

Bush is becoming known as the "poor man's Darren Sproles".

Sproles>>>>>>> Bush

I dont think a 2nd rounder is too high for a running back...There have been some pretty good running backs to come out of the 2nd round..Clinton Portis, MJD to name a few...

I did see that block was pretty sick...I wonder if I could do that to a 5 foot 9 Strong saftey.

DT has surprised the **** outta me, he lowered his pad level form TC and preseason to now, ****ing incredible.

I was also impressed with the fact he can be coached. I also strongly believe that this was why we signed L Johnson and then set D Thomas down for a bit, to learn the lesson that he needs to put his head down. Sometimes, it is about just making one yard or not losing any yardage.

Does Ingram play one game, pull a hamstrinbg then play 2 games and pull a hamstring? Hopefully DT can string together 3 games before pulling his hammy again.

One problem we are having, which (pat myself on back) I saw coming is that so far, neither D Thomas nor R Bush can do a good job pass blocking and picking up blitzes.

Could you just imagine if they pounded Thomas in the opener against N.E. and had Bush catching dump off passes. Would've been a thing of beauty

so everybody is sure pouncey is great and he will be our center for a decade?

we said the same thing about Satele, remember he had root canals and practied that day? lmao what a sign of greatness. HAHAHA

Have you watched Satele. Hes a damn good center powering a Oakland team that will run on anybody.
