Is depth on the O-line a concern?

I really like the signing of Jacox. He brings starting experience and versatility. But other than he and McIntosh...I'm a bit worried. Alabi doesn't seem NFL ready, Berger is hurt, and Wade Smith...is Wade Smith. The Joe Toledo injury may prove to be more costly than we think. I realize most teams don't have 10 starting caliber linemen, but I only see 7 here. Is that enough? Hopefully Saban makes another move or 2 to shore up the depth.

I'm worried we have Bennie Anderson starting at RG. Heck, Jacox can play better than him. I had hoped Toledo would stay healthy and give us a quality backup Guard, I'd take him over Wade "Sack my QB Please" Smith. Pretty sure Saban has some plan to bolster the OL whether by trade or signing a guy who was cut.

Saban is working hard on getting the RB situated, He may bring in a few more O-Linemen to work out for us.

Is there a updated list of O-linemen available????

We'll be fine! We cant be perfect in every position! Nobody really ever is. We are ample enough on the O-line for now and will only get better as the season rolls on......re-lax!

Saban just brought in a guy from NO, seems to me we're deep enough and these guys need some continuity.

What I don't understand is why Carey or McIntosh are not playing RG... Anderson has looked horrible and either of them could probably do better there even with a position change than he has been doing. Maybe he has just looked poor at the few looks we have gotten in preseason but is getting it done in practice, but at this point I think a change needs to be made at RG.

Depth is fine, McIntosh and Alabi will back up the tackles (I wonder which one will be active Thursday night, that will tell us about the real depth chart) and Smith and Jacox will back up the three inside spots (same as tackles). When Berger is ready to suit up I expect either Smith or Jacox to be cut.

To have two former starters on the bench, even if they are somewhat marginal, is great depth in a day of salary caps and 53 man rosters.

I would like to see Anderson either raise the level of his game or get replaced but otherwise, I'm satisfied that the Oline has made another improvement this year.

Why? I see nothing wrong with keeping 10 offensive linemen. And if we were going to cut someone, why would it be the guys with experience? IMO, if we cut someone, it'll be someone on the D-line, not the O-line. That's where we have the surplus...

Because RT is a more important position on the OL than RG and Carey's future is at RT. McIntosh has never played anywhere on the line except LT. If Anderson begins to cost us too much then we'll go to Jacox.

I am concerned about the starting OL, let alone depth. They did OK protecting Culpepper in preseason, but they were completely unable to open any holes for Ronnie...........let's hope they improve.

I expect it because Saban keeps saying we are one over on our number of Offensive linemen (and defensive as well). That limits our ability to keep guys expressly for Special teams.

In past years we have kept 8-9 olinemen on the 53 and 1-2 on the PS. We have typically had a starting five and a second five comprised of reserves and practice squad players. We now have eleven and that's out of balance.
