Perry to join Chiefs

Tight end Ed Perry, who was the Dolphins' long snapper in five of six seasons between 1999 and 2004, is expected to sign today with Kansas City, Coral Springs-based agent Marc Pollack said. A 10-year NFL veteran, the 31-year-old Perry was beaten out for a roster spot in the preseason by rookie John Denney.

We've lost Kendall Gammon to some kind of leg injury, and I'm curious as to what you guys think about Perry. Should we be very afraid of watching FG's and punts?

Listen, guys, thanks in advance for any help here.

Thanks, guys. It's obvious you would rather have kept him. Salary cap sux sometimes. Gammon's been here a few years now, and long snapping has been one thing nobody worried about 'til now. It's good to know we're not getting a scattershot.
Good luck this year, and have patience. Youth on the 'Fins will get you there.

One of the best. I still don't understand why he was cut.

He is a very good LS and a very classy guy. Also, if one of the players needs a hair cut, he will be there.

Hes one of the best in the leauge. Cant remeber a mistake on his part.

He was only cut in an attemp to get younger.
