I mean this guy gets beet by Crotchery, and he is not even near him when the ball is in the air. His coverage sucks. Also, who was Hill covering on the 4th down "Hailmary"? Was Hill watching Favre and not his man or what happened on that play because that guy was wide open. I am still happy with the Defense overall and want a win bad.:up:Go Fins

first off, that playaction was a hell of a fake from Favre . . . there were no safeties over the top because they ALL bit on the fake . . . Goodman actually reacted the best to it, but it was still too late. I mean I still think we need to be grooming a young CB, but he is good enough along with Lehan.

Now I don't know WHAT Hill was thinking on the Favre prayer . . . I just don't know.

Hill got sucked in when Starks nearly (AND GOD DAMN SHOULD HAVE!!) nailed Favre. That was a very lucky through, he was aiming deep left, I think. THe multiple hits came a fraction of a second late and it popped out and up of Favre side arm. Hill switched off badly though.

Deep cover looked pretty good on that play and for most of the game to me, other than Goodman on JC. And that was a really odd route that Goodman could have left for a safety / dime / nickel 95 times out of a hundred. Perfect play action, perfect pass, perfect route. Anyone could've been burned.

Crocker on the other hand, missed some very basic shut down tackles and looked a liability in certain situations. Namely, when the Jets had the ball. ;-)

Crocker DEFINITELY looked like the weakest link in the secondary today, and I wouldn't be suprised to see Jason Allen starting next week. Crocker can't be a liability against Boldin and Fitzgerald next week.

Bell and Will Allen were solid and Goodman looked good for the most part except on the JC play . . . but it happens.

I think the team needs to find a true #1 corner in the offseason. Will Allen is a decent #2, and Goodman is an ok nickleback. For this season though Goodman is as good as we're going to get at that position. This is only year one of rebuilding under the new regime so there are still quite a few positions that need upgrading.

I agree, crocker is a huge liability back there. The guy needs to be replaced ASAP.I think Jason Allen may be seeing more playing time next week.He may not be the answer but I believe he has the potential to be better than Crocker, which isn't saying much.

lol those true #1's just don't grow on trees tho . . . Will Allen IMO is a solid #1 CB as we may get . . . unless u wanna throw a boatload of money to the CB from Oakland, but u are going to break the bank ala Nate Clements to find a CB better than Allen . . . which we do what we gotta do, but understand what it will take.

Will Allen is a steal and IMO a good #1 CB . . . definitely not a "decent #2" as u put it. At worst he is a decent #1 . . . would be a luxury if he is our #2 CB next season to this amazing #1 CB u expect us to find.

I know what u are trying to say . . . but it ain't easy man. Our CB's are pretty decent if u ask me . . . they could be worse.

I think Jason is a guy who GETS it come game time . . . he showed us that last season . . . he must really be horrible at practices, because I don't think Crocker is better than him, and he sure didn't prove me wrong today or last season.

You're right I was exaggerating saying that Will Allen would be a decent #2, he is a decent #1.However I still believe the team should spend the money ,if possible, and upgrade the 2nd corner position. Then move Goodman to the nickle spot.

Yes, I'm not sure what the deal is with Jason Allen. It has to be that he is just terrible during practices. When he received playing time towards the end of last season, he actually played pretty well.He still made some mistakes, but I agree that he would be an upgrade over Crocker, who had a pretty bad game today.

no he's not a head scracher imo on why he's on the field was BURNT Badly on sereral long playfakes

To lose his place to Crocker, he must play practices blindfolded.

Why and how did the 4-12 Jets leap frog ahead of us so significantly during the offseason. We are still the weak sisters of the division/league!

To be fair that was probably the best play action fake I have seen in a LONG time. Plus he thought the reciever was running more of a post, so it was more of a mental error.

Other than that they didn't have many big plays, other than that rediculous 4th down crap.
