I'm not sure being on Hard Knocks is a good idea at this time.

You've got a new coach trying to get his system in place (and trying to learn the players). On top of that you've got a new quarterback who may turn out to be something, but at this point is inexperienced for a college player, to say nothing of an NFL player.

Can't see these cameras and the hype that comes with Hard Knocks as anything but a distraction. In other words, this has got Ross written all over it.

And while I'm interested, of course, I can't see the Dolphins as being a very good pick for other teams' fans. To most other fans, the Dolphins are currently a mediocre-to-bad team with no quarterback and a couple of no-name receivers.

This just seems like a bad decision on both sides of the ball (HBO's and the Dolphins').

It could be a bad idea but I dont care I will be watching every week just to see the Phins.

Publicity stunt.

Everyone ripped and laughed at the Jets for getting a spot on Hard Knocks and now all of a sudden people love it because the Dolphins are on it.

Some call it hypocrisy, I call it hating every goddam thing the Jets do.

I am just concerned that it may become a distraction for the players.

honestly yeah. cus those ****ers win when I don't want them to. and they lose when I don't want them to. **** them and the ****ing lot. puke green colors. flying ****ing puke greeen **** them.

That's always the way it is, if you guys were on fist most jet fans would have bashed you too but I thought then and think now that hard Knocks is not a bad thing for any team. If a team can't overcome distractions cahnces are they aren't going to be a good team anyway and it's not like not being on HK has helped you the last decade.

I love it. Behind the scenes look into our dolphins and our new coaching staff and players.

It might be a distraction, but it could also be motivation. If you were going to be on national television with potential future employers watching, its likely you're going to put more effort into your work. No one is going to want to be embarrassed on the show.

if we were currently challenging for the super bowl, i would say this was a horrible idea (and so would Philbin, I imagine). as it is, my selfish desire to see the dolphins featured in a quality television series far outweighs any possible distraction it may cause the team and players. (OP - i heard a report that Ross was against us appearing on the show, and it was Philbin's decision. Another reason I am in favor of us being featured).
