We all know Ricky was drafted by the NO Saints and he has done many good and bad things here for us since being traded but I have a question to all dolphans. Do you believe Ricky Williams is a bust as one of the top draft picks in his draft class? He has produced and has quit, so I am interested in your opinions.

He wasn't a bust his first year here but since then he absolutely has been. The new regime has no emotional ties to him but no doubt is aware of the possibilities meaning that it's **** or get off the pot time. I would think that the fans agree. Enough already. The NFL is a what have you done for me lately league. His first year here was a long time ago. It means nothing. Will he be in camp? Probably. Who else would take a chance on him? Oakland maybe.

talent wise you can't call him a bust. everyone knows how talented he is, so "troubled" might be the better word vs. "bust"

overall, since he has entered the league playing for Saints and Dolphins. Do you believe he is a bust?

Bust? No...Waste of talent, Yes

A bust is someone who can't do **** in the league, i.e. Ryan Leaf. Ricky Williams was an extremely talented RB that squandered his opportunity and wasted his career. I feel kinda bad for him, but then again, at the same time I'm just pissed off at him for leaving us high and dry on numerous occasions. Life isn't that bad, Ricky. All you had to do was run around with a ball and you could've had millions to get all that mary jane when you retired....

Bust with 1800 yards in 1 season :shakeno: Just a idiot because he has so much talent and throwing it away

Ricky can play there's no doubt about that. I still think he's a bust. The Saints didn't want him. They get two first rounders and Miami got a headache. Other than his first two seasons in Miami, all he's done is gain a bunch of negative publicity. He was traded to Miami six years ago and this is what he did on the ground for us...

45 games
949 rushes
3,983 rush yards
4.1 yds per rush
31 rush td's

Those stats are impressive but almost half of them were from 2002 alone. In the 5 years since, this is what we've gotten from Ricky...

29 games
566 rush att
2,130 rush yards
3.7 yds per rush
15 rush td's
51 missed games

Given everything invested in Ricky I think he's a bust. I just wish they'd cut him already. How many chances should one idiot get?

Ricky is definitely not a bust....he was arguably the best back in the NFL for a year or two....he just made some bad decisions off the field. You cannot question what he was able to do on the field.

bust has nothing to do with talent. was he worth those two first round picks? no. bust.

I'm assuming you mean 2002 and 2003. In 02' he was a beast in 03', not so much. Nine other backs ran for more yards and all of them had less carries. Ricky had a medicre 3.5 yard per cary average. I know the oline stunk but Ricky did at times as well.
