Had to laugh at this quote in the article:
"During the 2012 season, his rookie year, the former Texas A&M signal-caller played behind an adequate offensive line with very poor receiving options and a below-average running game."
Wait, wat?
I thought that Hartline and Bess were AWESOME, FREEKIN" AWESOME receiving options!!
At least that's what 90 percent of FH believes.
Dang, smh. The pieces around Tannehill the first two years were pretty much the worst that a rookie QB has had to endure for a space of two years. Perfect way to kill a young QB -- throwing him to the wolves w. poor pieces around him.
Now people say, "It's on Tannehill to perform!" As if the team has great pieces even now. Apart from Wallace, zero playmakers at WR. Maybe Landry can change that?
And a bunch of pedestrian players at TE.
More pedestrian player at RB.
And a bunch of question marks on OL. Potential at least. Didn't even have that last year.

Adequate offensive line??? What a joke. Because of the Incognito-Martin fiasco, we were flipping our lineup on a weekly basis and bringing in crap to fill the holes. Tanny was running for his life.

I don't think many around here said Hartline and Bess were great #1s and #2s. Bess was a very solid slot WR and Hartline is very solid #2. Hartline proved early in the year they type of numbers he could put up if you didn't pay special attention to him but once teams started doubling him he was taken out of the game. If you have another weapon that demands a double Hartline is a very solid WR. There are certainly things he is not great at like RAC yards or redzone, but he has very good hands and can get open vs nearly anyone one on one, has great awareness, and excellent body control. Only an average blocker but very willing at that as well.
For those who love to complain about Hartline I really doubt you are going to love Landry.
My goodness man.
The only way Hartline gets open against good one on one is in the middle of the field.
Forget about it in the red zone. He's nothing. He's not quick. He's not fast. He's not physical. He's got a poor catch radius.
He runs good routes -- often has to work double and triple moves to get a yard or less separation -- and this works between the 20s. After that, it's really, really, really sad watching Hartline against one on one.
Good WRs DOMINATE one on one and especially red zone.
Hartline will be eclipsed as a number 2 WR as quickly as mediocre Gibson eclipsed Bess as a number 3.

If he was as atrocious as you are saying he is, he simply would not have put up back to back 1,000 yard seasons. I'm not saying he is elite, but you are vastly underrating the guy.
