I am pulling for the kid from tiny Portland State. He has shown some good things and has been the backup right tackle throughout training camp. It's always neat to see a longshot end up making it.

no. maybe the p squad. our backup tackles will come from other teams cuts.

rooting for the "good guys" doesn't really work out. I.E, John Beck.

Well Heerspink is a good guy but he came from a tiny college. He's the longshot ype that you root for to make it. And just because he's a good guy doesn't mean he won't be any good. There have been many many great people who have been great players in the NFL.

personally he looks better than ndukwe (sp?) who's been a turnstile at tackle but i don't see anything to date to warrant a roster spot. a year on the p squad and he could develop.

I think Heerspink will make it. He has been the backup RT since the beginning. Look I know alot have said that our backup Tackles will be from other teams, but you guys could be wrong.

Look the truth is that Ireland does not believe in having big name Backups. Look at the backups for Dallas. You guys keep sayingmaybe Berger will be released, maybe Mcquistan but who is to say those guys are any better. They have been backups their whole careers.

I dont expect in additions along the line. Carey can play LT and RT. Drilek plays every position along the line. Smiley plays LG and RG. Murphy has seen time at both G spots and Byrne and Spanos have both played G and C.

I hate to break the news, but Miami might not pickup anymore lineman.

The Wide Receiver position will be an interesting position to watch. I can see Ginn, Hagan and maybe Bess but Wilford is not a sure thing and Camarillo and Kircus are not going to be anything special. Anthony Armstrong has zero experience and Foster is a practice squad candidate at best.

we get a major injury to either carey or long at tackle and we're in trouble. we better upgrade the depth at the position off other teams cuts. remember, we were 1-15 depth on this roster is a major issue.

Receiver is defitnetly the position to keep an eye on. To bad Hixon just broke out, cause he was looking at the Axe in NY, and I was defitnetly monitoring him.

What ? That's absolutely ridiculous.. If you think this regime, a regime that puts a lot of stock in tackles, are going to settle for Ndukwe to back up the rookie Jake Long, you're crazy (nothing personal)..

This regime just drafted Tackles Doug Free and James Marten in the 3rd and 4th round respectively in Dallas a couple of years ago. And they already had 2 good starting tackles.

This regime just drafted an OT first overall.. In other words, they put a premium on good tackles.. And I can ASSURE you that they won't settle for what's backing up the tackle position currently on the Dolphins.. We have first choice on the waiver wire, and you can put it in the bank that they will bring in at least a tackle when cuts are coming up soon at the end of the month.

As much as you guys rag on our Backups they did not give up any sacks last week, and the jags have always had a solid d-line. BTW I personally think Ndukewe will be released, but I dont see us carrying more then 8 maybe 9 lineman. No way we carry 10. I think Heerspink makes the team.
