My bad for another Henne thread
though this question could be the answer
we have been looking for since Marino..

If Henne is for real that means Sparano and Ireland will be rewarded
and the dolphins have a real shot at the playoffs
regardless of the offensive line woes.

We have seen Henne perform well in past year preseason games
though something is different about henne he seems to be more confident.
After all the henne bashing it looks like he is settling in to be the guy?
Will we know the answer to this question after new England?

Don't know. May know more by the end of the month. After watching countless games and following NFL most of my 40+ years it has become evident that it takes by end of week 4 to know what you really got in your team and its qb.

Henne looks promising in practice games... but he has a poor history in real games.. We will see soon enough..

let's not get carried away or too eager yet. I hope he does develop and be our guy, but I'm a little cautious as this was just preseason. Yes he was more accurate, seemed more in command and more poise than before which is good, but we've seen rookies and other mediocre qbs look good in preseason and put up good or decent stats in preseason, only to show their true form when the real heat comes in the regular season games. If he plays well against new england, then that will be step in believe he might have turned the page, but then he would have to continue from there and show consistency even if he does play well against new england and miami wins

man i f'n hope so. i think this new system, and the coaches taking the leash off will help alot. he has shown confidence, leadership, and poise the in the preseason. i think he will take a step foward. but thats just me being optimistic

I'm in the Henne booster, not basher faction - but objectively speaking I'd be surprised, not shocked if he is. He does have limitations. However, I'd be happy to live with those limitations if he turns in a year like Sanchez did last season not getting in the way of the team's progress. I think that's reasonable and that he's at least as good, with as much upside as The Taco.

Those aren't lofty expectations...anything above that would be icing on the cake for me.

Will be quite interesting once the bullets fly in a real NFL game.

I think he'll make some plays. The worry is how many mistakes will help the opposition ... that's why they've had him play small ball in the past. Can Henne win games!?!?!

I'm pretty sick of small ball ... let 'er rip & let the chips fall where they may!! Go Henne!!

there is something different about Henne in the new offense this year. if they can end up in the top 15, playoffs are not out of the question.
one thing for sure, if Henne can't succeed with all the weapons around him now, he won't ever succeed.

From the Atl game to the Car game he seemed to go through a total transformation. It is one thing to do.it in the preseason, but regular season is a different story! But for the time being he looks like a living breathing human with emotion not a RoboShrek and it OS paying off!

I'm willing to give Henne the benefit of the doubt this season. A lot has been said of the change in Coordinators, change in offensive style, that there were factors handcuffing Henne in the old offense. Well, all that has changed (hopefully) and im willing to see what Chad can do without those factors working against him. I agree, however, that if Chad reverts back to his 2 to 3 int. games and erratic passing, i will be the first to agree we shouldn't waste any time, and move on from this QB.

If the ladder does in fact happen, its back to the drawing board and we will once again be looking for a replacement Head Coach and "new" QB of the future... sighhhh......

Ask me again at the end of the season. I should be able to give you a correct answer by then...
