So we know that Howard is oft injured and has a mighty large contract. Could he be trade bait to couple into either a trade up or just to get another first round pick? Did we get Jones just so we can move Howard?

This would be my wish come true. As the same reasons why I don’t want Tua, I say sell or trade while we can before we lose all leverage when his injury worsens. If need be trade him as part of a package with 2 of our firsts to the Bengals.

you must love dead cap money. I thought you were in favor of Grier and Flores? why would they trade him one year after a deal. They shut him down because the season was lost

I hope not. This team has a track record of being scared of greatness. We often acquire one player to get rid of another, instead of dominating at one position. We did this with JT and Ogunelye (probably misspelled that) as well as others. It drives me crazy!

so you want lose a starter and two picks.. so you want to create more holes and not be able to fill them? my goodness

Unless I get a 1st round pick I would keep him and even that I might not do it if it’s in the bottom half. What’s the point of trading a guy for a 1st and then using a pick to replace him.

Not seeking to trade him, but there were rumors earlier in the offseason about a potential rift between X and FLO ...

Regardless, my personal belief is IF X were to be traded it wouldn’t be til camp .... for potential picks next year ... also depending on how the draft plays out ...

We had to trade Ogunleye. We had Zach, JT, Madison and Surtain under long extensions. No way could we afford him.

Make the guy the highest paid CB last year knowing about his past injuries since he got injured in his breakout year, make the Jones the highest paid CB this year. Form a borderline top 5 duo only to break it up? That's not very cash money.
great post. Flores is visioning (I assume) to have an identity in the secondary. He might even draft a safety. To the OP, this identity allows Flores to pressure the qb via the blitz as we still don't have a pass rushing specialist. we struggled last year at pressure. Now he can be creative. Now as time goes on Clowney gets cheaper. can you imagine having a pass rusher and a great secondary?
