Is it 80 year round or 80 before training camp?

I continue to hear references that the Dolphins can not have over 80 players this weekend at minicamp. Is that a new rule?:unsure: In the past you could keep more until you started training camp. Anyone who knows please chime in.

no it has been there for a while. Alot of people want more, but the rule hasn't changed yet. By the end of training camp it has been cut to 53. That is why some teams are picking up a lot more players after the draft than us, we did our pickings before the draft with all the special teamers so to speak.

It is 80, and then it cuts down to 65 or so, then it cuts down to 53 plus 8 on practice squad.

I do recollect the days of 90. I was just under the impression the 80 didn't apply until Training camp. In other words, it didn't apply to mini camps. But I do recall Charlie Casserly making a critical remark of the NFL for the limit.

NFL teams are pushing for the limit to jump back up being led by Indy and Tampa, to this point though there is no change

We defitnetly will have a bunch of players at the Rookie camps on Thusday, cant wait!
