And, no. I'm not talking about the O-Line, or the QB, or the LB, or anything specific on this team.

I'm referring to the franchise in general and the revolving door that's been going on for TEN PLUS YEARS.

For the first THIRTY EIGHT YEARS of this franchise's history, there were four head coaches (plus an interim coach).

Since 2005? We are now on our seventh head coach.

That's ridiculous.

We've been through Ricky Williams, 1-15, Brandon Marshall, Jeff Ireland, Mike Wallace, Bullygate, and more.

We've had The Liar, Cam Cameron (who doesn't deserve a nickname), The Man Who Owes His Career To Chad Pennington for 2008 (Sparano), The Guy Who Was Probably Already The Best Guy For The Job But We Chose Joe Philbin (Todd Bowles), The Guy Who Might Actually Have Been Voldemort (Joe Philbin), The Guy Who People Would Run Through Walls For, But Just Wasn't Quite Ready, (Dan Campbell)...

...and now, Adam Gase.

I originally wanted Hue Jackson in this spot. I did. And I think Cleveland has a good coach now.

But I am intrigued by Gase and what he's doing so far. I will certainly say this: I'm definitely more excited to see what's going to happen this year than I have been since 2009.

I know we're all jaded. I'm tired of them losing, too. And I get the "I'll believe it when I see it" mentality. I do.

But maybe, just maybe...this is where the mouse wheel stops, and the future begins.

Fins Up.

One thing hasn't changed since 2005, all we can do is hope this was the right move.

I think it is. Well it feels like Gase is turning things around. Lets see how they perform on the field.

I think unusually our tendency has been to hold on to crap coaches or GMs longer than we should, rather than not giving someone enough time to do their thing. I think we all are starting to get a clear idea of what a Gase team is going to look like on both sides of the ball, and the question leading up to the draft was will Tannebaum make a complete mess of it. We got great value with the first pick and after that certainly debateable, but we got the kind of guys Gase and Vance Joseph want so lets leave them to do their work. I think we do basically need to give them a few years and see how it works out.

I just don't know what to expect until I see the team on the field. All these coaches talk their game and philosophy and then when they put the product on the field, its the same old Dolphins. I am intrigued by the youth and personality of our coaches, and how it translates to the rookies....but I don't know what the veterans on this team are going to be like because a lot of them have injury issues and such. I am still very much looking forward to the season like I do every season, but its going to take a few games before I can judge how good the team is. Hell, I still think we are a year away from competing for the playoffs, but I want to see if the offense has improved, because I KNOWWW we have that unit locked down for the most part for the next 2-3 years...and if for whatever reason it hasn't, that means its going to be Tannehill's fault and we have to find another QB...again.

I'm excited (as always this time of year). What I don't see yet is leadership in the locker-room. Until we have that I'm afraid we don't have much of a chance to be a big time team again. Hopefully the leadership starts at the top and will trickle down but enough showmanship and more leadership and I will be a very happy camper.

Someone from the defense maybe will rise and take the lead role kinda like Ray Lewis did with the Ravens.

Who knows what we will get this year, it is hard to stay optimistic with this rotating coaching staff and management.

Well in reality, hope is all any fan base can do when they get a new coaching staff, owner, draft a new QB, anything. Even folks who are known commodities or drafting almost surefire prospects. Hope is it.

1. Stop hiring ****ty coaches
2. Find the right players
3. Reap the benefits

Lmao I was part of the Stability Brigade. I thought we needed to give Philbin another year. That was the wrong decision. Yeah we all want stability but not if you have a losing formula. Let's all hope we can get that winning formula Starting... NOW!

Hows that?

The guy hasnt done a thing yet. Nothing!! Shouldnt we wait until around mid season to start these kind of assumptions? I do see you mentioned "seeing them on the field first" and thats true, but i think we have to see that BEFORE saying he is or has turned things around. I see a lot of people setting themselves up a massive dose of anguish, anxiety and disapointment like last year getting high on speculation, hype and assumptions. I honestly felt bad for a lot of guys last season. I really did. You could feel the pain and sadness as the disaster season unfolded because they truly believed after signing suh, we were playoff bound, even without lb's, cb's and o-line. Suh was going to make everyones game better. That was a gimme.

The massive pressure and sacks suh would provide would make even the worst corners play with confidence and production they never imagined. Lb's were an after thought because the suh led d-line front wasnt going to let players get to the second level. I'm just starting to see some of the pre mature and lofty exectations around the boards starting before ANYTHING has taken place.

But hey!! Strange things happen in this world. After all the failed position gurus, parcells, saban, sure fire winners that ended in frustrating, shoulder shrugging dissapointments, could it actually end up an owner who is football clueless, a vp that is a milkshake salesman pretending to be a football man, a gm, who really isnt a true gm and never held the position before AND..... a wizard of offenses never seen before, 1st time head coach wonderboy savant (whos real talent was having a hof, all universe qb) could end up being the winning combination!!

On paper? In reality? Not a prayer. But, again, the universe is known to serve up some real gaspers and this bunch getting the miami dolphins to the superbowl wouldnt be the biggest gasp, but, pretty close. And thats ok by me. All i want is a superbowl team again and i dont care if i like the front office personel or not or the names on the back of the jereseys. Just get us out of this nightmare!!!

I like me some Gase but let's see em earn it on the field. Feels like we have a football freak in charge though I'll tell you that.
