I hope we are just not hearing about Pederson interviewing because he's out of the NFL. Are these the two Ross is choosing between? Who is better and why?

To me, I think Daboll is a better choice because he's got a little more experience, knows the AFCE inside and out and will be able to field a better coaching team (Dorsey).
And his relationship with Tua is a plus.

McDaniel is a hot name but his inexperience scares the hell out of me. It really does feel like a potential younger Philbin where no one knows what exactly he even did for the team beyond some vague “scheme development” thing.

Tells me you have not researched McDaniels.

The Philbin and Gase references are lazy postings.

Like I said lazy.
Ha I see you decided to edit your post to include the thread…

So obviously didn’t go through 50 pages, but from a quick perusing it appears your “research” is a bunch of you yelling into the wind that he’s creative (care to explain why?), that other coaches didn’t call plays too, and quotes from players who like him.

Let me know what I missed, but that doesn’t look like very in depth research

Daboll also has more experience working with the QB, especially Tua, so he'd be my choice but I would prefer if we hired someone with previous HC experience for a change...

Beyond you guys squabbling, I'm going to weigh in for McDaniel.

Honestly, this is just pure personal preference. I've wanted to see a Shanahan-West Coast offense in Miami for a very long time. My overarching reason being that I think this offense elevates the key positions on the field.

When you look back at all of the QBs, RBs, and OLinemen that have flashed in this system versus other systems, it's staggering. Think about it. Brien Griese looked good in this system. Jay Cutler looked good in this system. There are countless RBs that had good stretches in this system.

I believe this is an offensive system that most capably hides players imperfections, and makes them productive. When we talk about the modern NFL where salary cap, draft imperfections, and injuries make depth all the more important, this system allows backups to step in and play to a competent level.
