I know the consensus around the league is that Parcells is a genius. Why is it then that the Jets have been unable to acheive that elusive goal, as well as the cowgirls. He does have a nack at getting results immediatly, but they never seem to get any better though. If he was a drafting genious his goal should be seen years 3 and 4, but that is not the case, unless you think the cowgirls and Jets are what we are looking for. There were some changes made last year, but alot of the players that performed well last year were allready here. Doesnt it seem like it is more of Sparano getting the most out of the players?

Everyone keeps talking about the draft, but Parcells draft history is mediocre at best. I know last year was good, but I could have made those picks. All you had to do was look at who was on the board at the time of our picks. Hell our first pick was so evident that it was made before the draft even happened.

Now look at the Pats, they are allways active in FA. They pick up all the so called washed up players and look what they get! I hate the Pats, but they are the franchise that everyone looks to as the measuring stick.

I hope Parcells, Ireland and Sparano can build us a dinesty! That is what we are all looking for isnt it? Parcells history has proven he can not do that! He can take a bad team and make them competitive, but I want 3 or 4 superbowls, not a playoff appearence or 2. I get a little tired of hearing what a genius he is. I think we were 11-5 last year because of Sparanos coaching and the players buying into it all.

I don't think there is a single person here that doubts the abilities of Sporano and how much he means to this team.

Honestly, I think that Parcells is best suited to do exactly what he is doing right now. No one questions that he is an abrasive old SOB, although most people ultimately like him. With that, I think that he is only able to hold his team's focus for a couple of years and is only able to stay in accord with the ownership of the team for a couple of years. With that being said, Jerry Jones meddling would piss off any decent coach/gm much less an old pro like Parcells. Where we are different is that we (the Dolphins) have full access to Parcells' football knowledge and intelect, his authority is unchallenged thus preserving his relationship with the ownership, and he has extremely competent people in place that he trusts to evaluate and coach the players in Ireland and Sparano that provide a buffer with the players. Parcells said a while back that he enjoys coaching the coaches more than he enjoys coaching players. We have a system in place and a chemistry that, in my opinion, lends itself to building a dynasty should the key people remain in place. It scared me when Ross took over that Parcells may bolt but I think that him remaining with the team says a lot about how happy he is here and how much potential this team has for long term success.

Exactly

I think Pennington is why we went from 1-15 to 11-5.

Parcells never had total control in Dallas, and I thought he built pretty good teams while in NE and NY. Before he got to NE and NY, they were the worst teams in the league. After he had a few seasons with them, they were playoff teams. While I don't think he's a draft genius, I do think he's a pretty good evaluator. Even the Pats whiff on some draft picks. I think you need to look at the lower round draft picks that develop into decent players, and I think Parcells has a good record of that.

I like Parcells, but unfortunatly the true football genius is Belicheat, and we all know where he can go.

Parcells is very knowledgeble, and a good man to have, but as a HC , just remember, Parcells has never won anything without Bellicheat, yet the Bellicheat has won without Parcells.

Sparano looks like the real genius coaching, w/ the help of Ireland with his talent evaluation, and Parcells setting up the right off-season game plan, as well as picking Sparano & Ireland.

I think its just a perfect mix of experience(Parcells), Talent Evaluation (Ireland), and good coaching, team/game management (Sprano).

How many other teams around the NFL can brag to have this beautiful set up?

Our Time is comming! It's inevitable.

A few Cowboys fans I know seem to think that Dallas' OL suffered because TS was in Miami.

Or, it could just be Romo probably held on to the ball too long or forced it into a certain WR so he wouldn't pout as much.

and you just remember bb never won anything without brady, pioli and a cam corder.

Don't get me wrong, Belijerk is not exactly on the top of my list, and would love to see him fail every year from here on, but he has been a better HC. Parcells was a good HC, but not great, he may have found his calling as VP though, he knows football, and the people needed to succeed.
