This is the 2nd year in a row that our first round pick is one of the last to sign, now im wondering it maybe its not the players, but the front office? Every since the new regime came in i have had no complains with our coaching staff and everything they have done to turn this team around, but as far as the front office im starting to question them. This is the 2nd year in a row since the front office and coaching staff overhaul that we cant get our guys in here on time. judging by the laid back humble person Ronnie is i doubt he was being greedy but just trying to get what is fair market, same with Allen so my question is are the guys in the front office being too stingy, or what is going on. Opinions?

It has to be, because this is two years in a row now..

Yo.. Jason Allen

There is no I in team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So sign now so you can payoff the new house.

The guy has to think about his future too.

You aren't his agent, and you don't have a position in the front office. With that being said, you don't have any idea of the situation, detail for detail. By that statement, are you calling Jason Allen a selfish player/person? Hmmm, I guess that goes for Ronnie Brown too (who by the way, is one of the most unselfish top 3 picks I've ever seen); he didn't sign until like after the second preseason game last year.

If they get a better contact, then there miracle workers.

It's definitely the front office. I knew last year was a definite holdout because it was such a high pick, but I was sure there wouldn't be a holdout this year because Wayne said he didn't want to have any, and we had the 16th pick. But we can't even get the 16th pick into camp on time? Now the agent says that he's willing to take a 6 yr deal, but of course, they will want more compensation. Hopefully this year would be the start of us winning a lot of games so we have low first round picks maybe we'll be able to get them into camp on time.

Last year, Ronnie Brown was not the last first round pick to sign.
This year, Jason Allen is not the last first round pick to sign.
Get your facts straight before you make your conclusions.

Maybe you should learn how to read before making accusations, i never said they are the last i said ONE of the last

How can you compare a 16th pick with a hobbeled hip to Ronnie Brown the agent for Allen is asking too much every other player taken 15th 17th all have 6 year deals for about the same cash flow he was offered i think he is being selfish this guy needs to be in camp learning the defense or he is going to get toasted on the field this isnt college

I have no problem with the tough negotiating tactics of the front office. This is not a new regime thing, the front office is the same and it is the front office that does all contract negotiations. Saben is not there negotiating this contract. It is the team's business model.

If "IT" means do we have a front office that is looking out for the long-term success of the Dolphins and is not willing to overspend or commit a large portion of the salary cap on players who haven't played a single down in the NFL yet then I vote "yes" it is the Dolphins.

Right on. What will 8 Millions do for the guy. i mean to you realize what insurance costs on a ferrari? Allen will need to go on food stamps making that kind of chump change.
