is it time to get rid of j.p?

j.p really hasn't done anything as a dolphin that the others lb's haven't..
i understand he a vet..and we need that but he used to be a sack machine,
lately he's been a shadow of his former self..and he's always hurt..
what do u all think will b.p show him the door?

Its been time to get rid of him. In fact we never shouldve signed him. But, what can ya do? Nothing we can do about it really but put him out there. He is still pretty good and ya never know, he might have a huge season.

But, there is no way to get rid of him. No sense in dumping him and taking that cap hit. We need a good LB anyway. And unless he plays like an all-pro, no one will trade for him and that contract.

I was not in favor of signing Porter last year, and for the first half of the season i think i was right. But i have to say from the second half of the season, probably that Giants game on, JP played very very well.

see the thing is that cam cameron, had the guy playing out of position all last year. now this year he is back playing his old position, and against jville he did pretty good especially coming off a back injury. we just need to sit him out until the opener. i think he will be fine.

Never wanted overrated Porter but financially it makes no sense to cut him and he can still be solid if overpaid

Exactly! During the season, I heard him on WQAM or 790 barely being able to hide his frustration with being misused and apologizing for his disappointing play. He wasn't throwing the coaches under the bus, but he's not a good actor either.

Porter's exodus is past due. Never, never, never should've been signed in the first place. Pittsburgh knew that he was on the decline, and the previous regime was stupid enough to throw a boatload of money his way.

He was arguably our best player from week 10 or so on......

Not that he had much of a field to compete with for that prestigious spot. I'm willing to give him another season, especially since we invested so much money in him.

We need his leadership on the field, the players themselves have said have a tremendous amount of respect for him, without him channing is our fearless leader.

Lets give him this year.

He'll sink or swim as a Dolphin this year.

How he got here made no sense, but if he looks anything like what he did with Pittsburgh while playing his original position this year, he'll be worth his high pricetag.

I also like his attitude. Classic linebacker mentality. You still won't find many running backs that say they look forward to playing against him.

Is it just me, or do some fans just hate everything???

Whats not to like bout Porter. He is overpaid, always running his mouth and he assaulted a person in a casino with his crew. Real classy guy. I also have very good info that he was engaged in some Vicklike activities, so yea I think he is a disgusting human being but hey if he plays for us than I hope he does well.

Maybe some of us just hate the way Wrongstedt, Saban, and Scam Cameron took this once proud franchise and turned it into the laughingstock of the league with their poor decisions.

Maybe some of us REALLY HATE LOSING.

Maybe some of us are utterly disgusted with going 1-15.

Maybe some of us[including BP who I dont think was joking at all when he said there are about (I think he said 4) 4 players to work with when he took over here] wouldnt mind seeing almost every single player that was brought here by these utter failures being sent packing as soon as we get better players to replace them and/or it is feesable to get rid of them.

I think Porter is a good player. I think he was misused last year. I think he could have a great season this year. I think he is highly overpaid and therefore is a bad value right now. But, I also think we pretty much need him this season and there is no real way to get rid of him and that contract. He might be our best player on D this year and we kinda need him to be if were gonna compete.

But, as soon as it becomes feesable to cut him, or he plays well enough for a team on the frindge of making a run who might need a LB and wouldnt mind paying that money and we can trade him....it will be done.
