From what i saw during the 07/08 season Jason Allen had great potential at FS and when heard during training camp this year that he was practicing at corner I was mistified. Not to hate on Hill or anything but he doesn't have the abitilty to make plays on the ball like Allen. Allen is a physical freak and I think he's being wasted. What do you think?

He's not being wasted! He hasn't been able to crack the starting line up under 3 different coachings staffs. He is a BUST. Physically gifted well mentally, NOT.

When he get on the field he makes plays???? Just let him start for a few games in preseason next year.

He "is" being wasted. You're contradicting yourself. You say that "he hasn't cracked the starting lineup".....that's the evidence that he's being wasted and underutilized. Remember it isn't "Allen" who dictates whether his number is called...its the coaching's decision.

When he's played he has produced 4 INTS in two half a seasons and shown talent. But he still doesn't start....that means that they aren't giving him a chance and are wasting him, like the poster stated...

Keep him at CB and stick with it. Jason Allen has flip flopped positions more than a politician in D.C.

No, it's not. I put garbage in the garbage can, and, not on my dinner plate. The reason I do that is because it's garbage, not dinner. It does not mean I am underutilizeing or wasteing my garbage. My garbage is where it is, because it's not dinner.

Allen is where he is, because he does not belong in a starting role. He is not being underutilized. He is where he belongs.

Really? Three different coaching staffs have tried to start him at various positions in the secondary and have all come to the same conclusion, yet you say he hasn't gotten a chance? He's gotten tons of chances, he just can't take advantage of them.

I think three different coaching staffs have given him chances at just about every position in the secondary and he can't start consistantly for whatever reasons. Believe me, they don't want any player to fail...Especially Saban's staff, since they drafted him.

yes. hes terrible and should be starting so we dont waste him...good logic

Jason Allen's biggest problem is the fact that he has had three different coaching staffs in three years. Each new one comes in and says "Ooh! I like him over here!" and then moves him. He will benefit from having the same coaches for more than one year I think.

people mention him making plays last season, let me just point out that it not only took Yeremiah Bell and Renaldo Hill, but also Traveras Tillman, and Cam Worrell. Even then, we signed Donovan Darius, Tank Johnson(who didn't play a game for us I think), and Lance Schulters and playeed UDFAs Courtney Bryant and Tuff Harris before Jason Allen saw the field on defense. J Allen was option 10 at safety.

All the staffs have tried him at all or most of the positions. This was my reasoning on him too, but, after this year, it's clear that he just doesn't have it.

Jason 'might' succeed in an undisciplined system ... but it clearly appears that he cannot succeed here in MIA with a disciplined - know your role and stick to it style that we play.

There has never been a question about his physical gifts .... it has always been the mental ones that never seem to surface.

Maybe we could send him to the RAIDAs ...

You forgot about Lamont Thompson. He was only here for a month and the guy was easily forgettable but you're right. We were reaching for anyone and burying JA further down the depth chart.
