is joe philbin a failure already to you all...

Difference is the Bengals and 49ers have talent/playmakers. We don't outside of Bush, Vontae Davis and Dansby.
. Back to coaching...those guys played nothin like that b4 Jim got to the 9ers...and bengals plugged in dalton and green...the talent isn't so far from team to team that its impossible to turn around quickly...unlike basketball players can make your team go...in the NFL coaches do,with some players. Remember tony sparono is gone...he was supposebly the problem,so let's see what philbin can do.

Ummm theirs a guy named Wake... Hes pretty talented...
Cool a guy who is a one trick pony. Bengals and 49ers have a lot more talent and the Bengals have a staff/coaching tree that's been together for YEARS with Mike Zimmer leading them.

49ers cleaned house and got a new GM and coach, we did not. Bengals culture hasn't changed...every year Marvin Lewis has been there it seems they make the playoffs one year and miss the playoffs the next. It's been a constant up and down franchise.
most of the players on the 9ers roster are from they're own drafts...from the o-line,running backs and defense.Jim just got the most out if them, that's somethin tony couldn't and hopefully philbin can.

lol, the guy havent even coach a down yet, but i wont lie hes got a tough team to coach and its gonna be kinda hard to make this team win games and he will probably take all the blame for irealands mess.

They've been draft in the top 10 for a while, they have a lot more talent than we do...a lot more. Their defense was #2 in scoring defense and 4th in yards, they also created 38 turnovers and only turned the ball over on offense something like 11 times.

The big thing is that they have drafted impact players...we've drafted O-line and D-line.

. They underacheived though...just like our talent has been before the coach came.our drafts looked pretty good on paper also...gates was ripping it up all training camp and pre season..no playin time.bess is always renowned as one of the best slots in the NFL but stats don't reflect it.its not about just having players, its about playing to they're strengths and utilizing they're talents.that's where the sparono era failed...

what suprises me is the lack of knowledge people have about "their" team.

the power structure and pecking order was laid out clear as day for us all after PHILBIN was hired. JEFF IRELAND is the first and last word on ALL personel and players. PHILBIN coaches the team and overseas his assistants and game meetings.

so all of you blaming philbin for this or that NOT happening or things that HAVE happened, GET A FRIGGN' CLUE and learn about your team! dont just throw on your finz cap and turn on the pc and start spouting because it makes you look SILLY.

the miami dolphins are JEFF IRELANDS baby. he drafts it, hires it, over seas it and is responsable for everything miami dolphins except coaching on the field. and dont be suprised if he isnt poking his nose in there either.

you can bet PHILBIN is second guessing his choice to start his h/c career here though. i am sure he got a whole lot of heads up about the dangers and drawbacks of coming here and to his credit, he took on a challenge that others wouldnt, for whatever reasons.

but i am having a feeling that phil and sherm are on the phone asking themselves what the hell they got themselves into.

NO MORE PHILBIN BASHING!! wait untill november and see how he handles what ireland has provided for him, then start judging the mans performance. JEFF IRELAND controls everything BUT coaching!!!!

It is though because he accepted the job.
And how much do you think he knew about Ireland? How much did any of us know about Ireland? For the first 3 years he's been here he's hid behind the Parcells name and now that he can't the more that's revealed about Jeff Ireland the worse it gets.

This team has no offense threat outside of Reggie Bush (who is always questionable to last the year)....besides whoever we draft.

Easily a sub .500 team

According to many here Ireland has a league wide bad reputation so he should have known all he needed to know.

We haven't been underachieving. You don't have the #6 scoring defense and claim the team is underachieving. You can't say "well we were underachieving on the offensive side only" because it doesn't work that way. There are things you can do scheme wise, game planning, etc to put the team in a better position to win but this team is not underachieving. Look at the roster and you'll see the majority of the talent lies on the defensive side of the ball...Dansby, Wake, Soliai, Starks, Burnett...remarkably none were drafted by Ireland...signed by Parcells who was the draw for free agents to come here or drafted by Cameron/Mueller.
