is joe philbin a failure already to you all...

According to many here Ireland has a league wide bad reputation so he should have known all he needed to know.

Well then those people that said he had a league wide bad reputation knew it before I did. I just thought he was a bad GM, I had no clue just how bad his people skills were. I know it was stupid when he asked Dez Bryant if his mom was a prostitute but I figured that was an isolated incident...guess not.

I think Philbin will do a great job actually. I am excited to see the WCO here in Miami after year upon year of ground and pound.

Do we make the playoffs.. maybe not.. but 8-8 should be a real possibility.

I said some people here on this forum.....you know the ones who know any and everything.

I would like to credit Philbin with enough intelligence to have a fair idea of what he was getting into

- He knew last season they courted Harbaugh behind their current HC's back and that Harbaugh said no
- He knew he wasn't first choice this season. Fisher was. Not only that but they wanted Fisher so badthey were prepared to give him a blank check
- He knew Fisher said no because he wanted a say in personnel and that was the one thing that Ross wasn't bending on. So Ireland would have total control

There is no real reason to feel sorry for Philbin. He got a promotion, a lot more money, a chance to finally be a head coach and realistically how many more chances was he going to get ?

How can the Fins Head Coach be a failure "already" since he has not had the ability to "coach" one player?

Finheaven is getting worse by the day.

I don't think he is,but you guys are dubbing us a sub .500 team, won't win more than 4 games etc...but helloooooo we did switch coaches..I mean sure..this offseason hasn't gone how you like, but how can you guys not at least let the man run a OTA? We don't have the same offensive or defensive coordinater..let them put "they're" mark b4 you all go crazy. Maybe Marshall and bell isn't what philbin and coyle are lookin for 4 they're schemes...we still have the draft and free agency isn't over. A simple coaching change can make a world of difference..well it makes all the difference...I don't buy into the rebuilding,Ireland sucks and the media torture that has nothing but terrible, horrible things to say.the team isn't as bad as you all are making it..I know your tired of waiting and wanna win,but he is the first coach I think won't crack under the pressure and despite Ireland's short comings of a person,he is the perfect coach for this situation..I believe that we will be that Bengals or 49ers team that everyone wrote off before the season. Short term memory...that's what people have.49ers didn't make major changes and they're owners still suck...but Jim saved that franchise who were worse off than we were. Same with the bengals, horrible owner but exiting chad and Carson, two pro bowlers and they go to the playoffs...maybe I am glass half full type of fan or maybe I don't buy into that Jeff is a bad pr person but hell of a nose for talent and value. I will be angry if we have that sub .500 team, but regardless of the backlash I think you will see this will be a good team this year with Moore under center. Dalton and Alex...I would take Moore over both of them and they got there.so I will wait and see if what all this negatively influenced week is true? Or will philbin exceed your expectations and get us a playoff birth for the first time in years. I believe he will but I doubt if any of you all think we are any where close...its the NFL..we have some pieces to work with and things can change with change...isn't that what you all wanted? Well we have Joe so I will wait to jump off of a cliff..if we had tony still would be a different story.lol

Can't fail as a coach in March

There is a valid argument here you are suppose to research three job you court. I am sure with Philbins connections league wide he would have gotten the advice Zimmer and company did. Oh wait nevermind those guys were eliminated by us.

I think Philbin is shellshocked by all this.

I don't believe for a second that he has had ANY real input into the moves.

I just hope he stands up to the agenda and demands Tannehill at #8, because he deserves to be able to pick his own QB... something that he HAS NOT been allowed to do to this point.

He gets a pass this year because we're looking at 2-14 at best. Ireland will get fired sometime this year and then things will begin to shape up.
he does not get a pass this year if we are 2-14. cam cameron went 1-15 year 1 and was out the door.

although it would be nice if we miracuiously made a deep playoff run or heck superbowl, but realistically that will not happen this season. but finishing 2-14 u dont get a pass, especially with our sched this year.
we play the afc south and nfc west.

Has anybody considered the possibility that Sherman is a helluva lot higher on Tannehill than Philbin was on Flynn, and like a good HC (or in the case of Sparano, a bad one), he's deferring to the guy in whom he's entrusting the offense?

Yes me. I trust both of them far more than the expert GM's on Finheaven.

So Philbin didn't hear of any Ireland stories, nor did he do any research on the man before taking the job? Um no...that's ridiculous.
