More than he should be because of his age and draft order(2nd round). Does he have more to prove because he was not drafted by the Tuna? I think Beck is right were he should be and has performed well under the circumstances he was pushed into. Beck could be a star in this league if given the protection and the right plays for him to execute. I am saying Beck needs time to develop into a great QB so lets not rush him off to another team like we did Rosenfeles. Go Fins .:D

He is definately under more pressure than normal for a variety of reasons...

1} his age, that perception alone means he must prove himself quicker than the average jo... i can accept that

2} He played pretty bad last year in his stretch of games, for the common fan thats all they need to see to judge him...imo he was sabatoged by a lot of his teammates. he truly did'nt have a chance in hell to suceed.

3}The old regime picked him so he must prove himself to them..the leash is short.

Rosenfeles is very good career back up QB

Why do other rookies preform at a high level ,for other teams
but not my beloved DOLPHINS .

I still have faith in Beck tho...

Yes he is under more pressure and rightfully so.

Why draft a rookie who will develop (3 years) at the same rate as any other rookie at the age of 26? He was supposed to be more mature and able to adapt to the NFL quicker.

IMO he digressed as the season went along. was very happy and pleased with his first 2 starts, then his next 2 he looked horrendous. He looked worse then a rookie IMO.

I really hope Beck is the future, but if we have to wait the same amount of time as any other rookie, I don't really feel like waiting till hes 28-29 by the start of the season to finally say "Hey we got our guy"

IMO It's not worth the time and effort. 4 years is a big difference.

So yes, he is under more pressure and NEEDS to get it done this year. If he loses the job in camp, Beck is and will not be the future of teh Phins.

I hope he comes back and proves alot of doubters wrong. He has a good attitude and work ethic. I wish him the best.

I just, unfortunately, believe he wasn't a 1st round talent for a reason. It's a different situation then Brohm who was widely considered #1 and a top 3 prospect who for some reason has fallen to the 2nd maybe. Beck was NEVER considered a 2nd rounder till all the workouts and interviews and he impressed and moved up into the 2nd round.

I am all for giving him another season, but if Brohm is stiiting there at 32 I personally wouldn't hesitate to pull that trigger and get him. Jake Long and Brohm at 32 is my dream scenario lol.

Remember the article where Beck has stated that he's gained more knowledge and mechanics with new QB coach David Lee in a few months then he did all last season. That sums up what I already knew about Cam and the old regime. I always had a feeling that they just weren't pushing him hard enough to succeed. I think we are all in for a real treat in seeing what he does this season. Lookin forward to that first preseason game!!

Yeah I am with you. I hope Beck is the real deal but we can't sit back and say"Give him a couple years and he will be great. He may well not be and then we are out looking for a QB again. we desperately need to grab one, Brohm, Henne, Flacco, any of them If Beck works out then great. if not we increase our chances of one of them working out. Still Like Chris Long #1 and then we must get a QB. Too important to risk.

That can be taken different ways. The new regime and QB coaches are having him change his mechanics. The old regime didn't ask him to change. I personally would expect him to learn more from this regime under those circumstances. I mean, they are biasically telling him "You're doing it wrong. Do it this way"

I hope it works for the best though.

Exactly. Don't put all our eggs in 1 basket. I would rather waste a couple extra picks on the most difficult position in QB to finally find a QB then anywehere else.

He doesn't deserve the reigns just because he might have been mismanaged, developed and a high 2nd round pick. He needs to earn it and beat out talented guys as well.

I agree with you. I really feel like they are gonna push him real hard this offseason and it should be fun to see the changes in his game come preseaon time. :hi5:

I think John realizes the pressure he's under. If anybody can come out on top of a situation like this, it's John Beck.

Give me a break with the excuses. The guy couldn't even throw a dump pass to the running back with out under throwing him. The tuna will give me one more year and then we will be drafting a QB in round one next year.

i would say give him one more year and that we should get Jake Long in the draft to help him out

Name 1 Rookie QB that performed at a high level in the last 10 or 15 years ...

I think that beck has what it takes to be the "guy" for many years. However, we still need to draft quarterbacks fairly high (2nd and 3rd rounds) so that there is always someone able to take over, no matter how good our #1 guy is. The reason we are in the situation now is because we did not plan for the future with Dan. You don't need to draft the best quaterback in the draft, but one that has potential starting material.
