Yes he is under more pressure and rightfully so.
Why draft a rookie who will develop (3 years) at the same rate as any other rookie at the age of 26? He was supposed to be more mature and able to adapt to the NFL quicker.
IMO he digressed as the season went along. was very happy and pleased with his first 2 starts, then his next 2 he looked horrendous. He looked worse then a rookie IMO.
I really hope Beck is the future, but if we have to wait the same amount of time as any other rookie, I don't really feel like waiting till hes 28-29 by the start of the season to finally say "Hey we got our guy"
IMO It's not worth the time and effort. 4 years is a big difference.
So yes, he is under more pressure and NEEDS to get it done this year. If he loses the job in camp, Beck is and will not be the future of teh Phins.
I hope he comes back and proves alot of doubters wrong. He has a good attitude and work ethic. I wish him the best.
I just, unfortunately, believe he wasn't a 1st round talent for a reason. It's a different situation then Brohm who was widely considered #1 and a top 3 prospect who for some reason has fallen to the 2nd maybe. Beck was NEVER considered a 2nd rounder till all the workouts and interviews and he impressed and moved up into the 2nd round.
I am all for giving him another season, but if Brohm is stiiting there at 32 I personally wouldn't hesitate to pull that trigger and get him. Jake Long and Brohm at 32 is my dream scenario lol.
